Located at 107 East Main Street Independence, Virginia 24348. You are invited to step back in time to the early 1900’s, the construction of the 1908 Courthouse, and life in Grayson County. Plus the Vault Museum features an exhibit of an early mountain home, barn and blacksmith shop.

Old tools and farm implements are displayed. The Vault Museum is located on the first floor of the 1908 Grayson County Courthouse in what was formerly known as the Clerk’s Vault Room.

Grayson County Park features a great area to have a picnic under the covered picnic shelters, a place to take a nice walk on a paved walking track or the wooded hiking trails. The park also features 5 athletic fields, tennis courts, and an outdoor basketball court. During the summer, the outdoor pool featuring two water slides, two diving boards, and a concession stand is a great place to come and rest in the sun.
