Top 10 Summer Party Games Everyone Will Love

Summer party games are exactly the thing you need to make that summer heat bearable. Here are the top 10 summer party games everyone will love!

1)  Giant Jenga

Summer party games don’t have to be giant to always be fun, but it sure does help! The whole point behind giant Jenga is to have a game that has some legitimate weight to it, should you lose. Plus, if you have a decent amount of people at your party, it’s kind of hard to feel invested in the usually small two-player game of regular Jenga. Thus, by it being giant, everyone will love being able to really see whats going on, or participate in teams without people having to switch chares or position every single turn.

2) Bags

Ah yes, the forever-in-play debate between the names of one of the most well known of summer party games-Bags, or Cornhole to some. This particular game has an absolute cult following behind it, despite being relatively simple in its process. But that’s exactly the reason why this game is so great. The skill cap is only so high with this type of game, so anyone can pick it up. And anyone can start to take on those with more experience so long as they work on their hand-eye coordination.

3) Frisbee Tic Tac Toe

This allows you to draw or make a new Tic Tac Toe game board and then use frisbees by throwing them into the position that the player wants. This takes a fair bit of skill depending on where you set the distance to throw the frisbee. Plus with this method, you leave open for knocking people out of a spot potentially. The only odd thing about this game is having a multitude of frisbees. Which are cheap, but you might not have so many lying around.

4) Partner Run

Also known as a three-legged race, this is a great game for people to work together and also make a fool out of themselves. It’s a game that can lead to a lot of laughs, so even those people not playing will be sure to have a lot of love for the game.

5) Flip Cup

This game has been getting more and more popular over the past couple of years. Much like Bags, this game has somewhat of an insane amount of followers. And I will agree, doing what this game requires does, in fact, take some skill. However, the fact of putting this much effort into something so small makes it out to be quite ridiculously competitive, and that’s what’s so much fun about this game.

6) Darts/ Axe Throwing

Summer party games have notoriously been void of any and all sharp objects, but axe throwing is becoming more and more popular. Simply mock up a target, set it outside, and try your hand at timing and coordination for landing your projectile right in the center of the target. This could also be done with water balloons and a cloth or paper target for the younger generations.

7) Pool Ball

You need a pool to play this game, which makes it somewhat limited for summer party games that everyone can play. But effectively, this game is a mix between basketball and soccer. The end goal is to have a group of people trying to make their ball in the pool. But at the same time, you have a goalie in the pool to deflect shots if they’re good enough. Now the way this works best is if the shooters all have their projectiles color-coded to themselves. That way score can be kept throughout the game.

8) Scatter!

Summer party games wouldn’t be complete without water balloons being present, now would they? This game is simple, people stand in a circle with their hands or feet all touching a point. Someone whips some water balloons straight up above the circle as hard and as high as they can. The last person to remain in the zone wins. Simple, effective, and can be really interesting if you fill some balloons with something that ups the risk… like ketchup or mustard mixed with cold water.

9) DIY Fort or Boat (Pool Required)

Go to the local hardware store or just pick up some thick reams of paper and wax paper and get your players to start crafting. Whether it’s a makeshift fort or a boat floating in the pool, the players who did not make the other creation take a ball or water balloon and attempt to destroy or sink the other team’s creation. Whoever crafted the better creation that stands for the longest against the barrage, wins the game.

10) Splatter Art!

Pick up some cheap paint and have players start slinging it at some canvas or the fence so long as the paint washes off. This is a fun and creative way to get people making a mess in a fun and artsy way.
