Spooky season is finally upon us, and we’re all looking for the best ways to make the most of it. The long-awaited cinematic second half of Stephen King’s novel graced our theaters this September. The first movie gave audiences a whole lot of scares and some truly lovable kids, so if you haven’t seen that one yet, make sure to stream it before you go!
The anticipation around the sequel should mean that it will stick around in theaters for a little bit, but not forever! This clown-centric thriller has all the classic scares that keep the audience on their toes, but at its core it is a movie about fear itself, so this movie has scares for everyone- even if you’re one of the lucky few that doesn’t find clowns terrifying.
The AMC Loews Theater directly across the street from the Boston Common is incredibly convenient for anyone in the Back Bay area, and the Regal theater in Fenway has ultra comfortable reclining seats.

The infamous Salem witch trials happened right here in Massachusetts. We know by now that witches aren’t real- or at least, not as common as people seemed to think they were back in the day. But that’s not to say that the spirits of those falsely accused witches didn’t want to hang around and get their vengeance.
Salem has many events related to the Salem witch trials, including museums, memorials, and walk-throughs of the sites. As Salem has become hugely visited around this time of year, the city has become a top destination for Halloween-inspired events.

Salem is just outside of the city, an easy day trip by car or public transit, and there is plenty to do to make your visit worthwhile. The dog costume parade is another one not to miss!
Paul Revere is buried in the Granary Burial Ground just one block away from the Boston Common. Some other notable members of history rest there as well, including a great deal of Benjamin Franklin’s family- though not Benjamin himself.
Some supernatural experiences have been reported to have happened in that burial ground from the time of its creation to the present day, but even if you don’t feel any yourself, there’s something spooky about knowing what’s under your feet.
The burial ground is located directly in the center of downtown Boston leading into the theater district, so there’s plenty of places to find food and entertainment when you’ve gotten your fill of scares for the day.
Or, if you’re still up for more, visit all the other nearby graveyards. The city is dense with preserved history, and there are several other graveyards all within walking distance of this one, so explore the city and experience them all!
Just a couple blocks away from Paul Revere’s final resting place, the Omni Parker House is a hotel that is practically confirmed to be haunted. Downtown Boston is one of the oldest and most historic places in the country, and many of its buildings have a long and shrouded history. The Omni Parker House even more so than most.
Ghostly occurrences have been reported by patrons and staff alike for years, and, as a frequent stop on many ghost tours, the hotel doesn’t shy away from its spooky reputation.
