20 Signs You Grew Up In Buffalo NY

When you grow up in a place there is always the unspoken dos and don’ts of the town, that are practically law. These are 20 signs you grew up in Buffalo NY!

1. You are never from Upstate New York, it is always Western New York.

You will correct people every time they make this simple mistake.

2. Everywhere else may call them Buffalo wings, but here they are just wings.

Oh, and you never get WINGS anywhere but Buffalo.

3. We go to football games in zero degree weather with a windchill and it doesn’t phase us.

4. The Bills Mafia is a thing, don’t mess around with it.

5. We are the only team to go to four consecutive Super Bowls, and loose them all.

6. If it is above 60 degrees we are probably outside tanning.

7. Loganberry, sponge candy, Jim’s Stake Out, and Ted’s are all things we live for and can’t live without.

8. Always Mighty Taco over Taco Bell.

9. Jim’s is always the best at 4am after all the bars close.

10. Buffalo has the best fans with probably the worst teams, and we don’t care.

11. When going out for wings Duffs or Anchor Bar is the way to go, but they are not the same.

12. Along with good wings has to come good pizza, that’s why we have Lanova’s, Bocce’s, and Imperial.

13. We have one of the “7 Natural Wonders of the world” 15 minutes away.

14. And a different country 30 minutes away.

15. Lake effect snow could not be more of a thing.

More than 9 inches to delay anything and a foot to close.

16. Many presidents have been here and President McKinley was shot and killed here.

17. In honor of the late president we have a mall named for him.

18. President Millard Fillmore also helped establish the University of Buffalo, in his honor we have Millard Fillmore Hospital.

19. We all can pronounce Gowanda, Chippewa, Scajaquada, Tonawanda, Salamanca, and Allegany without hesitation.

20. We have the best St. Patricks Day Parade in the country, and some of the best architecture and bands come from our city.

Buffalo, NY is one of the best cities in America. Named the “All American City” and the “Queen City” Buffalo earned those names. We are loud, we are proud, we are Buffalo, NY.
