15 Reasons Why Living On the Outskirts Of LA Is The Best

Santa Clarita has many perks. The major one being its location, only 25 minutes away from Los Angeles! Here are 15 reasons why living in the outskirts of LA is the best:

1. The weather.

You get LA weather, without the car horns and loud noises. It’s quite wonderful.

2. You’re just as close to the beach as you are city!

With the pacific coast in Oxnard just 30 minutes away, you really get to take advantage of your prime location in the outskirts of LA.

3. No tourism.

If you’re visiting California, LA is worth every penny spent on exploring. Once you live near the metropolitan city, it’s nice to escape the binoculars and Disney ears once in a while.

4. Sometimes, there’s just enough tourists.

If you’re feeling adventurous, the Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame is close enough to go see for yourself. Even thought I live in the outskirts of LA, I can definitely admit to being a tourist for the day on many of my days off.

It’s like Disneyland but with just roller coasters and thrills. Located in the heart of Santa Clarita, it’s definitely considered its main landmark.

6. The people.

Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, all notorious for successful, but not so considerate people. Truly, the further you go from the bustling city, and closer to outskirts of LA, the nicer people get. The friendly atmosphere of Santa Clarita is definitely admirable.

Santa Clarita has got the be the place where I have always felt safest. The perfect place to raise a family while getting a true SoCal experience being so close to LA.

8. Santa Clarita valleys.

Although dry during some seasons, the valleys of Santa Clarita are beautiful in the spring, which are perfect for hiking. With multiple trails to choose from, the possibilities are endless.

9. The culture.

In one town, I have never seen a more diverse population. You try new foods, meet interesting people, and get to experience many different parts of other’s traditions.

Music is another big part of many city’s revenue and social scene. Although we’re close to bigger arenas like Staples Center, we happen to have our own outdoor stage at Central Park where many local bands perform. The community truly comes together through music, especially at “Concerts in the Park”, an event put on by locals every summer.
