Top 10 Places To Hide Something That No One Will Ever Check

Imagine this: you have something that you need to hide, but there are no known places to hide something in your house where you can put it safely. Well, it turns out that there are many places you can hide the ‘something’ you don’t want anyone else to find. These places are so secret (but so out in the open) that not even you, who has something to hide, thought of them. There are hiding spots throughout the common household that are perfect for hiding things of every size. The list below details several ingenious places to hide something that absolutely no one will ever think to look.

A Ring

So, you bought a ring for your wife before your planned proposal and you want to make sure she doesn’t find it. One of the best places to hide something is in a salt shaker. Simply unscrew the cap, drop the ring in, and shake it around a little till you can’t see the ring anymore. As an added bonus, even if the diamond in the ring becomes visible for a second or two when your soon to be wife uses the shaker, she’ll think it’s just the salt! Another great spot to hide a ring is in a bag of flour. No one ever touches a bag of flour except to make a cake, so odds are the ring will remain hidden until you’re ready to propose!

An Important Document

One day, as you’re checking the mail, an important document arrives that you don’t want anyone else to see. Perhaps you’re trying to surprise someone and, if they see the document, it’ll ruin the big moment. Out of the many places to hide something like this, one of the most creative is to tape the document on the upper side of a ceiling fan blade. Pretty smart, right? The only thing you need to worry about if you choose this spot is to make sure that the edges are taped down enough so they won’t make any noise. This great spot becomes bad pretty quickly if, when someone turns on the fan, they hear the sound of paper ruffling in the wind.

Money

Ah, money. One of the most common things people try to hide for a multitude of reasons. Are you having a party with a lot of guests? It’s probably a good bet to hide any cash you have lying around. If you have some extra toilet paper or paper towels lying around — which, lets face it, you do probably because of the pandemic — you can roll up your cash and place it inside the roll. Unless your guests use up all the toilet paper or paper towels, they’ll never find the hidden bills. A used pair of garden gloves are also good places to hide something small, like money. Stuff any loose cash you find around the house into the fingers of each glove or, if you think that’s too noticeable, only put the money in the palms of the gloves. Work gloves are some of the absolute last things guests are going to want to touch.

Medication

Medication is another good thing to hide if you think that someone is going to take it if it’s left out. While the bathroom cupboard is usually adequate to hide pills from young children, it will not fool adults who are trying to ingest things they shouldn’t. That’s why placing your medication in an unused bag of kitty litter is one of the most ideal places to put something as small and potentially dangerous as pills when you’re not home. Kitty litter is usually stored in a darkened closet surrounded by lots of junk on shelves so, if someone were looking for hidden medication, the would (naturally) search the cluttered shelves while your medication stays safe in the kitty litter below.

A Key

Is there a room, box, or another important thing somewhere in your house that requires a key to open? If so, where do you hide the key? It can be hard to find places to hide something so important without forgetting where you put it. A unique hiding place like in a potted plant will help you remember where the key is. To dig a proper hole which won’t be discovered by lightly scraping the top of the dirt or watering the plant, make sure to dig a really big hole. Don’t be afraid to put the key far down in the dirt; you’ll remember it’s in there somewhere. Also, don’t forget to brush away the scattered bits of dirt that fell as you dug the hole. If you leave a mess, people will begin to ask questions, and they key may be discovered.

TV Remotes

Hiding the TV remotes is sometimes necessary if you want to stop young children — whether your own or visitors — from watching things they shouldn’t. The best spots to hide remotes are (of course) places where kids won’t think to look, but also places where you can get to them quickly if you want to watch something. One of the best places to hide something like a remote is inside a VHS cassette box. They’re a bit old, but if you have one they’re practically invisible to kids. The reason for this is because no modern kid knows what a VHS cassette box is; they’ll probably just think it’s a worthless piece of cardboard.

A Laptop

If you’re up for playing a practical joke on your roommate and need to quickly find places to hide something of theirs, think about hiding their laptop — which they’ll quickly realize is missing –somewhere around the house. A really funny spot to hide their laptop is under a recliner in the living room. As you watch them try to figure out where their laptop went and finally fall exhausted into the recliner, laugh silently as you think to yourself, “You’re sitting right on top of it!” Another good place to hide it is underneath the mattress in their room. They’ll probably look under the bed, but they’ll never think to just look up!

Food

Sometimes, when you go to the store, you buy some food for you and only you. Problem is, your roommate will sometimes forget that some food is off limits, and they’ll be eating it as you come back home. To avoid the stress and your increasingly empty wallet, take pains to hide the food you buy. “But,” you ask, “what are some good places to hide something that can go bad like food?” Well, a super secret place to hide your food really depends on the size of what you buy. Say, for example, you buy something like Oreos, which come in a big container. You’re going to want to hide them in your dirty laundry. If you put the Oreo container in a zip-lock bag before doing this, then your cookies will be safe from your clothes.

A Present

Someone’s birthday is coming up, so you went out and bought them a medium sized present (it’s a shirt). After putting it in a flat box, you start looking for some good places to hide something that’s thin and about as long as the folded shirt that rests inside. Placing the box behind a bookcase filled with books is the way to go, here. Not many people are interested in reading books anymore, so the gift will be completely safe behind the dusty books. Alternatively, go into your garage, find an empty suitcase, and put the present inside. To better ensure that no one sees a suitcase that may or may not contain a gift, put it in the back of your garage and cover it with other things so that it is invisible to the casual gift-hunter.

A Bottle Of Alcohol

There’s an upcoming party at your place tonight and you don’t want people drinking the bottle of alcohol you just bought for yourself. You know you can’t keep it in the kitchen where everyone’ll see it, so you’ve decided to hide it. The question is, where? A clever spot to put your bottle is in a big, solidly colored vase. Gently put the bottle inside and back up a bit to see whether the top of the bottle shows up. After you’ve confirmed that the only way people will see the bottle is if they peer directly in, move the vase with the bottle inside to a far corner where it will not be noticed.
