Plus, the food is super Instagrammable, who doesn’t want to see a beautiful croissant on their feed? Brunch can get pretty pricey, so it’s always important to know where the best affordable spots are. Lucky for college students in Boston, there are so many places to enjoy a great brunch on a budget.

1. Thinking Cup

Just up the road from the Boston Common is one of the best coffee and brunch spots in the city. Thinking Cup serves the Portland based “Stumptown Coffee”, and swears by using the best coffee beans from across the world. If you are a coffee fanatic, this is one spot you need to hit up.

Besides coffee, Thinking Cup has a great menu packed with plenty of treats to enjoy for a lovely brunch. They have typical breakfast foods like eggs, breakfast burritos, and bagels, as well as classic pastries like scones and muffins.

For those who prefer lunch foods during brunch, Thinking Cup has lost of delicious options for you. They have the best grilled cheese, an amazing bacon, avocado, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, as well as an assortment of cold cuts to satisfy your sandwich needs.

For those that are gluten-free or dairy-free, thinking cup also has alternative menus for you! There are so many options for a delicious brunch, plus their prices are unbeatable! If you’re looking for a nice place to sit down and eat brunch with friends, The Paramount in Beacon Hill is a spot you need to check out!

They have an assortment of egg dishes for those who like to get their protein in, but one thing you can’t pass up at The Paramount is their waffles, pancakes, and french toast. Nothing screams brunch more than waffles topped with powdered sugar, strawberries, and maple syrup. Also, you’ll make your Instagram followers very jealous when you’re sharing snaps of the delicious brunch you just had.

If you’re feeling lunch during brunch, The Paramount has lost of options to satisfy your tastebuds! They have salads, sandwiches, and everything in-between! Their menu is super extensive, you definitely won’t have a hard time finding something you’ll enjoy.

Since it’s a very popular spot for families to enjoy meals, you’ll be paying a little more than you might at a coffee shop, but you definitely will get your money’s worth. Also in Beacon Hill, Tatte is a popular place for college students to enjoy brunch on the weekends or on a day off. Not only is the restaurant adorable and totally photo-worthy, but the food is also to die for!

If you’re looking for a place that has a designated brunch menu, Tatte is the restaurant for you! From greek style pancakes to a scrambled egg platter, there’s no shortage of good food here. They have classic french toast, a pastry basket, or a croissant sandwich.

Tatte also serves Shaksh0uka, a traditional North African dish that is a little taste of heaven! Add in some yummy sandwiches and salads and you have the ultimate brunch menu.

Something cool about Tatte is that their menus rotate depending on the season. Right now they are serving off of their fall/winter menu, and in the spring they will revamp it with lots of new options!

Just across from the Boston Common is the European style cafe, Explorateur. Whether you want to stop in quick and grab a bite to go, or if you want to sit down and enjoy your meal, Explorateur has all the options for you.

Similar to Tatte, Explorateur has a specific brunch menu for those who can never decide if they want breakfast or lunch. Their classic avocado toast is a popular choice among college kids as it is cheap, healthy, and picture-perfect (literally).

They also serve yummy soups, salads, and sandwiches topped with everyone’s favorites. If you are in the mood for a burger, they have those too! Maybe you’re in the mood for a big lunch? Well, Explorateur can whip you up a steak no problem.

One last spot that is great to grab brunch is Cafe Nero. They have locations scattered all around Boston, so there is definitely one within walking distance from you if you are in the city.

They also serve delicious breakfast sandwiches that everyone will be craving for days after their meal. Whether you love turkey and cheese or bacon and egg sandwiches, you can grab one at Cafe Nero.

They also serve yogurt parfaits and fruit salads if that is more your scene. For good protein, Cafe Nero also has an assortment of egg dishes!

Like Explorateur, Cafe Nero also allows you to grab and go if you are in a hurry. It’s also a great spot to sit and study if you like to work in coffee shops! The ambiance in the cafe is super nice with the yellow-toned lights and low-fi music playing. It’s definitely a great spot to enjoy brunch and snap some Instagram pictures.
