10 One Hit Wonders Of The 2000s You Totally Forgot Existed

Every generation has musicians that exist for a hot minute and then are forgotten except for one song. They may have written a dozen songs or more and have multiple albums, but only one song became a hit. This is true for the 2000s. Take a trip down memory lane with these 10 one hit wonders of the 2000s!

1. Daniel Powter, “Bad Day”

This song was released in 2005 and is from Powter’s self-title studio album debut. If you are anything like me, you do not know any other song from the album.

2. Gnarls Barkley, “Crazy”

Soul duo Gnarls Barkley released “Crazy” in 2006. The song is catchy and the video is memorable, so much so that none of the duo’s other music had as much success.

3. Dream, “He Loves You Not”

While the band also had popularity with “Us Against the World,” “He Loves You Not” was their only hit. At least they had a couple songs that are popular.’

4. D4L, “Laffy Taffy”

This catchy song was released in 2005. It was the band’s biggest hit and was played at school dances. What does D4L even stand for?

5. Hinder, “Lips of an Angel”

“Lips of an Angel” is an emotional song and the music video is equally powerful. It apparently resonated with so many that it was the band’s only hit.

6. Teddy Geiger, “For You I Will (Confidence)”

This song, released in 2006, was Geiger’s debut single. It was super angsty and was the singer’s only big hit.

7. Snow Patrol, “Chasing Cars”

“Chasing Cars” is a bit of an odd song, but it was really popular. It was released in 2005 and has sinced been recorded by other musicians.

If you ask someone if they know the band Nine Days, they probably will not recognize the name. However, if you start singing the intro to this song, the person will immediately chime in.
