10 Of The Best Dessert NYC Spots That Are Famous

Looking for a fun, new place to have a sweet treat in the Big Apple? While the Sugar Factory, Black Tap, and Serendipity 3 are great places to get your sugar fix, they are typically met with long lines and hour wait-times. So, where should you go instead? Here is a list of 10 Of The Best Dessert NYC Spots That Are Famous.

1. Ample Hills Creamery

Ample Hills Creamery is one of my favorite hotspots in New York City. With a dozen exotic flavors to choose from, it’ll be difficult to only try one. My personal recommendation for first timers is to get a scoop or two of The Munchies or Ooey Gooey Butter Cake in a pretzel cone.

2. Chloe’s Soft Serve Fruit Co.

Do you have a sugar craving, but don’t want to make a major cheat out of it? Chloe’s is the place to be. Their frozen fruit resembles the sweetness of frozen yogurt, but only contains water, natural fruit, and a sprinkle of organic sugar cane. Although there are pre-made options and fruit pop selections, it’s best to make your own bowl of your favorite flavor and toppings. Don’t forget to add some peanut butter!

3. Dominique Ansel Bakery

They are known for creating the cronut, a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. Dominique Ansel Bakery has a variety of sweet and savory delights. Located in SoHo, it’s a great pit-stop to grab a quick pastry. If you’re alone, the frozen s’mores are worth the try, but if you’re with friends, make sure to get a round of cookies shots too.

4. Schmackary’s

Schmackary’s prevails as one of the best cookie eateries in New York City. Found in the theater district, Schmackary’s fills the hearts and tummies of customers with dozens of creative flavors. Make sure to check the store’s website calendar to see which flavors are being sold everyday. My personal favorite is the Funfetti cookies. They’re sold everyday in every season.

5. Cool Mess

If you’re looking for something to do with your sweet treat, head right over to Cool Mess. This east side ice cream parlor lets you and your friends create your own ice cream. Choose the flavor you all want and let everyone pick out a topping. Each table comes with an ice cream machine that let’s your pour in your base and toppings at any speed you would like. Maybe you’ll even accidentally create your own flavor.

6. Levain Bakery

Freshly baked cookies don’t come better than Levain Bakery. They’re known to stir up a crowd. Their famous cookies are hard on the outside and gooey on the inside. Just one cookie will easily make you full. My preference is to just get a classic chocolate chip cookie. Even though it sounds basic, it’s warmness will do the trick. Levain Bakery is the best dessert NYC.

7. Momofuku Milk Bar

Want to try a new type of sweet treat? Then, head over to one of the multiple Momofuku Milk Bars. Milk Bar is famous for their milk flavored ice cream. Momofuku pairs it perfectly with their corn-flake toppings. They also serve some odd creations such as Compost Cookies and Crack Pie, but the B’Day Truffles are the best dessert NYC has to offer.

8. Holey Cream

Known for their array of doughnuts in Midtown, Holey Cream combines the perfect marriage of donuts and ice cream. Their most notable creation is their famous donut ice cream. The customer picks the flavored donut they want, add toppings, and choose an ice cream flavor to complete this sweet treat. Sliced like a bagel, this dessert is definitely Instagram-able. These are definitely some of the best doughnuts within NYC.

9. Emack & Bolio’s

With a range of corky and traditional flavors of ice cream, Emack and Bolio’s is worth the try. Along with ice cream, the chain serves yogurt, smoothies, root beer floats, and egg creams. The best way to add the final touch to your delicious ice cream is getting one of their popular cereal cones. My go-to ice cream is grabbing a scoop of Space Cake or Cookie Monster within a Froot Loop layered or Cinnamon Toast Crunch covered cone. If you’re a fan of tasty ice cream cones, then this NYC spot is best for you.

10. Vive La Crepe

If you’re looking for something more simple, go to Vive La Crêpe. Customers are able to choose a savory or sweet type of crêpe, layering it with fillings as they go along.”Nothing can beat a crêpe with some Nutella, fruits, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.
