12 Odd Smoothies That Taste Really Good

For anyone who doesn’t like eating food in the morning, smoothies are the best thing for you. For anyone who likes trying weird flavors, smoothies are the best thing for you. You should just really try these smoothies. You’ll like them.

1. Ginger-Orange Matcha Green Tea Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of spinach leaves
  • 2 tangerines
  • 1/2-inch nob of fresh ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of Matcha green tea powder
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3 tablespoons of hemp hearts
  • 1/2 – 1 cup of water

Steps:

1. In the container of a high-speed blender, add the spinach leaves, tangerines, ginger, green tea, banana, and hemp hearts. 

2. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, about 30 seconds. Enjoy immediately.

2. Mint Chocolate Green Protein Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop of any chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1 cup of fresh spinach
  • 1 mint leaf
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 3/4 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of dairy-free chopped dark chocolate
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons of melted dark chocolate to create the chocolate swirl on the glass and on the top of the smoothie

Steps:

1. Blend all the ingredients together, except for the dark chocolate.

2. The mixture will be thick, so make sure you have a good high-speed blender.

3. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more almond milk.

4. Garnish with the chopped dark chocolate.

5. Swirl with dark chocolate if desired. Enjoy!

3. Strawberry Grapefruit Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 grapefruit, peeled, seeded, and chopped
  • 2 cups of hulled fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 1 sweet apple, cored and chopped
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

Steps:

1. Combine all the ingredients into the blender.

2. Add a cup of water and blend to process.

3. Blend for about 30 seconds and then enjoy!

4. Roasted Strawberry and Tahini Buttermilk Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 3 tablespoons of raw sugar
  • Salt
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons of tahini
  • Crushed toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Toss the strawberries with sugar and a pinch of salt on a parchment-lined rimmed baking sheet. Let sit, tossing occasionally, until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Roast, tossing halfway through, until strawberries are soft and release their juices, 20-25 minutes. Let cool.

2. Transfer 3/4 of the strawberries to the blender. Add banana, buttermilk, tahini, and 1 cup of ice, blend until smooth. Using a metal spoon, smash the remaining strawberries to a jammy consistency. 

3. Divide smoothie and strawberries among glasses and top with sesame seeds, if using.

5. Strawberry Chia Watermelon Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of fresh watermelon, cubed with the black seeds removed
  • 1 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 medium frozen banana
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup of plain almond milk
  • 1 medium lime
  • 1 tablespoon of chia or hemp seeds

Steps:

1. Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend until creamy and smooth, adding more almond milk to thin or more strawberries or ice to thicken.

2. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed, adding more lime for acidity, banana for sweetness, or watermelon for a more intense watermelon flavor.

3. Serves 2, top with additional chia seeds to mock watermelon seeds. Best when fresh, but you can keep leftovers in the fridge for up to two days.

6. Carrot-Ginger Citrus Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 naval orange
  • 1 thin slice of lemon
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1-inch nob of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of hemp hearts
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 1 cup of water

Steps:

1. Into the pitcher of a high-speed blender, add the oranges, lemon, carrots, banana, ginger, hemp hearts, turmeric, and water.

2. Start on low and increase speed up to high until all the ingredients are smooth about 45 seconds. Pour into a glass and top with a sprinkle of hemp hearts.

7. Banana, Coffee, Cashew, and Cocoa Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1/2 cup of cold-brew coffee
  • 1/4 cup of raw cashews
  • 3 tablespoons of old-fashioned oats
  • 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • A pinch of ground cardamom
  • A pinch of salt

Steps:

1. Using a smoothie or ice crushing set, puree banana, dates, coffee, cashews, oats, cocoa powder, cardamom, salt, and 1/2 cup of ice in a blender until smooth.

8. Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 large frozen banana
  • 1 cup of ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk
  • 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of peanut butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Steps:

1. In a blender, combine all ingredients. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.

9. Sweet Potato Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup of cooked and cooled sweet potato cut into chunks
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of milk

Steps:

1. Place all the ingredients in the blender container in the order listed and secure the lid. Start on low speed and gradually increase the speed to high and blend for 30-40 seconds, until completely smooth.

10. Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie

Ingredients:

Jelly:

  • 1 cup of frozen raspberries
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice
  • 1/4 cup of water

Peanut Butter:

  • 3 tablespoons of peanut butter
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup to 2/3 cup of almond milk

Steps:

1. Blend the raspberries, orange juice, and water together in a high-speed blender.

2. Pour the mixture evenly between two glasses.

3. Rinse out the blender, and then blend the peanut butter, Medjool dates, chia seeds, and almond together until smooth.

4. Pour on top of the raspberry layer.

5. Use a spoon or straw to blend the smoothie together.

11. Minty Green Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of coconut water
  • 1 cup of spinach leaves
  • 1/2 of a small lime
  • 2 ripe kiwis
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 of a ripe avocado
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • 4-inch piece of English cucumber
  • 1 passionfruit

Steps:

1. Combine all of the ingredients in the blender container in the order listed and process at high speed for 30 seconds or until completely smooth.

2. If using passionfruit, pour a layer of smoothie in the glass, followed by a layer of passionfruit. Keep repeating until both are completely gone.

12. Blueberry Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 of an avocado
  • A handful of spinach
  • 2 tablespoons of hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup to a cup of plant-based milk

Steps:

1. Blend all of the ingredients together at a high speed until smooth.

2. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy!
