5 Nail Trends To Watch Out For This Summer

We love a new season for nail trends! Summer calls in a new palette for bright and vibrant colors to own. Here’s FIVE nail trends you should watch out for this summer!

1. Multi-colored nails

When you’re not really sure which color to pick for your nails, you can gladly say “ALL the colors please!” because multi-colored nails are in. This nail trend is the most time- and life-saving for those of us who are so indecisive we need at least three business days to decide which single color to pick for all ten of our nails (don’t even get me started on the pedicure!). You can choose from variants of colors on the same palette or go full on rainbow, but that’s the beauty of having multiple nails and free will. The multi-colored nails present a more youthful approach to your look, which is much needed for the fun and happy days of a hot summer!

2. Floral nail art

You can’t really go wrong with florals in the summertime! Having floral nail art on one (or all!) of your nails can be a reminder that the rain has stopped, things are finally in bloom, and they’re beautiful. Whether or not you’ll be sitting in an office or lazing around at home during the summer, you can always look down at your nails and feel refreshed with floral nail art.

3. Dip powder manicures

If you haven’t already been participating in this nail trend, you definitely need to for the summer! You’ll already be getting your fix of UV rays from the sunshine, so you really don’t need the extra damage on your hands and nails. Dip powder manicures are a seemingly safer alternative to gel and acrylic nails, as you don’t need to encase your paws into the lamp box or have your technician file down the layers of your natural nail.  One down side is that the top coat for dip powder manicures aren’t as shiny as gel can be, but they give more of a natural finish which others actually prefer. Manicures using dip powder are just as aesthetically pleasing as they come in a variety of colors (including the option for french tips!) and can last as long as gel and acrylic too!

4. Tortoise shell design

This nail trend is perfect for those of you who love your neutrals! A classier take on the marble nail art trend, tortoise shell nails look best when only accented on some nails. The process of creating tortoise shell nails is very similar to creating the marble effect or even leopard spots that were popular way back when. The tortoise shell design is best paired with darker colors such as black or plum, but if it’s on the brighter side, it can also wonderfully go together with gold, mustard yellow, or orange to match with the orange undertones the tortoise shell can have. You can easily add gold glitter or gems to the tortoise shell design to give it a bit of glam as well!

5. Neon nails

Summer is always the best time to wear neon colors on your nails! This nail trend is perfect for those summer music festivals and especially raves, if you’re into that. When else other than summer would it be socially acceptable to wear highlighter colors? Summer is the time to go big or go home. It’s when you can express the vibrancy of life through your own personal style. With neon nails, you can choose whether or not to go multi-colored like the first nail trend or stick with your favorite color. Either way, it also reflects a bolder, more youthful look for you!
