10 Monumental Ways To Celebrate Your Birthday

The more birthday partys you have, the more they can blend together and start to feel the same.  Once you reach a certain age, you might find yourself wanting to have unique birthday parties that you and your friends won’t soon forget.  If you’ve decided you want your next party to be a big occasion, then this list is perfect for you.  These are just some of the amazing birthday celebration ideas you can try for a once-in-a-lifetime style party!

1) Mixology Expert

One way to spice up a party you already have planned is to hire your own mixologist.  This expert in mixology will be sort of like a personal, custom bartender for your event.  It’s their job to be skilled enough with creating customizable cocktails that they can make you your own unique drinks unlike anything else.  You might give this mixologist a few flavors you’re searching for, like minty or citrusy, or you can give them a more vague theme for your drink, like tropical or autumn.  Giving your guests (and yourself) their own customizable drinks is a great way to put people in a festive, celebratory mood, and will have your party be in people’s memories for a long time.

2) Spa Day

If you’d rather spend your birthday relaxing instead of stressfully setting up a party, then having a spa day is the best choice for you.  Grab a close friend or two and just spend your day giving yourself some much-needed self care.  Let the spa workers take care of your skin and hair, making sure everything is soft and smooth, enjoy some aquatic time with steam rooms, pools, and hot tubs, or just let go of your internal pressures by getting massages.  Whatever you’re in the mood for, just let yourself relax and let someone else take care of you for once.  This birthday celebration is garaunteed to have you feeling refreshed, like a brand new person, once the experience is over.

3) Bar Crawl featuring themes and ride share

Going to a bar is a classic birthday celebration, but why stop at just one?  Pick out several of your favorite local bars and go on a bar crawl with your friends.  You might feel inclined to pick a theme in your bar choices, like sticking with tiki or sports bars.  Or you might just want to pick bars that serve your favorite drinks.  If you want to include everyone in the drinking and fun, you can agree as a group to forgo the designated driver and just agree to ride-share to each bar.  That way, no one has to worry about drink limits and you and your friends can focus on having a good time and grabbing as many delicious cocktails as you please.

4) Murder Mystery

A more intense, thinking-heavy party can be when you decide to go for a mystery theme.  Take your party of an escape room, or plan out a murder mystery soirée.  There are tons of various escape rooms and mystery party hosts that take the burden of planning the event off your shoulders.  Instead, you get to spend your party solving riddles and looking for hidden clues.  This might not be a rager of a party, but you’ll certainly have a good time searching out a secretive explanation for curious events you’ll find yourself surrounded by.

5) Karaoke

A classic party idea is to find yourself a karaoke bar and just let loose.  You could host a karaoke night at your home too, but either way, you’ll want plenty of drinks and lots of good music to choose from.  Set aside any potential embarrasement and let your inner rock star out to party!  Pick duets with your friends or just hog the stage with your favorite songs, there is no wrong answer.

6) Casino Night

Another fun birthday celebration can be setting up a casino night.  Unless you live near Vegas or Atlantic City, you probably don’t have many opportunities to try out some gambling card games and dice rollers.  If you aren’t interested in actually risking your money, you can always play games for food, bragging rights, or just brownie points.  Having a good variety of games and areas to play can make it feel more authentic, closer to an actual casino.  Of course, unlike a real casino, you’ll be in control of your food and beverages, meaning you get a lot more freedom and flexibility.

7) Going Abroad

There’s no birthday celebration bigger and more monumental than going abroad.  This probably isn’t your opportunity for a large gathering of friends, but you can take your best friend and visit the vacation spot of your dreams.  Give yourself a small plan– where you will stay and for how long– but don’t stress about the rest.  You don’t need a thorough plan to enjoy being abroad– have fun exploring a foreign city, eating diverse food, and experiencing an entirely different atmosphere.

8) Movie Night

Having a movie night for your birthday party may sound layed back, but you can definitely make this a big occasion.  Find a smaller local theater and rent it out for the night.  You can enj0y a movie of choice on the big screen, or even pick your favorite series and binge them all while the space is yours.  Make sure you have a big selection of junk food and drinks to last you throughout your viewing experience!

9) Luau

A great party idea is to get tropical and throw a luau.  Go wild with your decorations, from grass skirts to tiki drinks to roasted pig and pineapple.  This thematic party is a great way to feel connected to those warm, sunny beaches and refreshing coolness of the ocean.  Not to mention all the sweet beverages you’ll get to drink.  You can always get caterers or friends to help plan this out, because you won’t want to miss any authentic part of this tropical party.

10) Wine Tasting

Our final birthday idea is to go wine tasting.  So often, the intricate and subtle flavors of wine can go unappreciated, so give yourself the chance to truly enjoy the large selection of wines out there.  Whether you go out to a vineyard or host one at home, it’s a great way for you and your friends to enjoy some classy drinks, relax, and have a good time.
