Items To Incorporate Into Your Routine If You’re Serious About Skincare

Your face is the first thing that people see when they meet you. No pressure, right? We all wanna make a good first impression or take a bomb #nomakeup selfie but it’s hard when your skin acts like a three-year-old throwing a tantrum.

If you’re serious about skincare, you know that it’s more about the journey than the destination to healthy skin and that it’s something that needs to be incorporated into your lifestyle. Here are items to incorporate into your skincare routine if you’re serious about getting that natural glow.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen should be incorporated into everyone’s skincare routine! If you’re a skincare beginner or expert, everyone should be putting sunscreen on their face to protect themselves from the sun! And yes, by everyone we mean everyone. Our skin is strong but it isn’t exempt from this rule. We know that this one sounds like a drag but sunscreen isn’t how you remember it as a kid; all sticky and funny-smelling.

There are so many different types of sunscreen out now. A lot of options provide full coverage while not leaving a white cast and give off a nice scent. If you wear makeup, switch out your regular moisturizer for a sunscreen!

Facial Steamer

When people have problems with their skin, a lot of the problems stem from the root; pores. Clean pores keep you from getting pimples and small pores help your skin stay soft and smooth. Facial steamers are a skincare two-for-one because they let out a warm mist that opens your pores.

Once your pores are open you can get a deep clean that you definitely won’t be able to get with washing your face regularly. Most steamers are relatively inexpensive (try Walmart or Amazon) and can be worked into your skincare routine once a week.

Masks

Masks have become so popular! You can find them everywhere nowadays. But because of their abundance, it can be hard to know which mask to choose. We recommend doing your research. since everyone’s face and skin is different. A lot of the cheap masks offer solutions to multiple problems but don’t deliver on any of their promises.

Once you find the right one for you, they are an easy and effective way to practice skincare. Some masks are peel-off, wash off, and some even come with magnets. Try not to fall for the hype and make sure the mask you get is right for you. Masks can be incorporated into your routine once a week as some can be drying to the skin.

Take Your Makeup Off Before You Go To Bed!

If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times. Makeup removal is crucial to your skincare routine! There are a lot of things in makeup that was never intended to be on our faces for long periods of time. If you let makeup rest on your skin without removing it can cause some damage.

Skin is very absorbent so if you let makeup sit on your face forever, your skin is going to absorb that makeup into your body. Getting a motorized brush will help significantly but nothing gets into the smaller parts of your face like your fingers. Try to get a good facial cleanser and if you get drunk and lazy on the weekends, keep makeup wipes next to your bed. However you take it off, just do it.
