How To Elevate Your Style With What’s Already In Your Closet

Falling into a fashion rut can happen to anybody. We don’t always have time or the budget to give our wardrobe the revamp it needs. What if I told you that with a few tweaks here and there, you can elevate your style in your closet to feel brand new? Check out our favorite tips and tricks below!

Sometimes It’s Not What You Wear, but How You Wear It

It’s easy to throw on your go-to outfit. The dependable t-shirt and jeans or a button up with your favorite trousers. Before you leave the house, tuck in a part of your shirt the way you see your favorite bloggers do so effortlessly. You’d be surprised how much it changes the look of your outfit.

Learning to Layer is Key

You have plenty of things in your closet and nothing to wear, right? Wrong. Pair your best concert tee with your job interview blazer. Wear your comfortable hoodie underneath your jean jacket. Pair your flirty dress with your motor jacket. The combinations are endless. This is a casual way to elevate your style!

When in Doubt, Belt it

If you feel like your outfit is looking a little dull, add a belt around the waist. If you don’t have a belt, use a scarf. Transforming your look doesn’t require a massive upheaval, sometimes it just requires some critical thinking.

Dress it Up, Or Dress it Down

Growing up, you’re taught that jeans are casual and should be worn with sneakers and dresses are nice and should be worn with beautiful flats or heels. I say switch them. Wear your favorite sneakers with your sundress to go to the grocery store. Better yet, dress up your jeans with a pair of your killer heels that are sitting in your closet waiting to be worn. Rules are made to be broken. This is one of the ways to elevate your style in the summer heat! Dresses can elevate your style and are very easy to wear to both work and on your off days.

Never Underestimate the Power of a Strategically Placed Scarf

This accessory has proven it’s versatility time and time again. Scarves can be used all year round and can definitely be sported any which way. Try it as a hair accessory, bag accessory, or for the classy touch, around the neck. Neckerchiefs are easy ways to elevate your style by adding that one accessory.
