Game day essentials are needed at any football game! College football season is everyone’s most favorite time of year. This is the time where the community comes together to cheer on their school and showoff their school spirit. From the tailgates, to the game, to the post-game celebrations, here are the 12 game day essentials that you need in order to survive your day full of college football!
You can’t head to game day without wearing something that represents your team. Grab your favorite school t-shirt or jersey, pair it with some jean shorts, and a jacket, and you will have your perfect game day outfit! Keep the outfit comfy, yet cute, because you know you’ll be taking pictures all day, and you may even end up on the big screen at the game.
Don’t leave the house without grabbing your cooler. Be sure to fill it with lots of ice so that your drinks will stay cool and fresh during the tailgate, and even after the game too!
Stop by your local grocery store to grab some of your favorite game day snacks and drinks to bring for the big day! Bring something salty, like chips and salsa, along with something sweet, like your favorite candy bar, and maybe some hot dogs to grill, along with your favorite drinks. (Don’t forget to grab a few water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day, too!)
It’s always a good idea to bring some cash with you, along with your credit card and ID card. You will probably get hungry or thirsty either during or after the game, so the extra cash and credit card will definitely come in handy. You may even stop by your favorite bar after the game to celebrate your team’s big win!
This is such an essential for all of you Social Media lovers out there that love to Tweet/Instagram/Snapchat/Facebook every moment of the big game. From the start of the tailgate, to the end of the game, you are bound to use your phone to posts pictures and updates, and the portable charger will be a life saver. You will probably have to share the charger with a few friends too.
Depending on the weather, you will either need sunscreen or a rain jacket. It’s always better to come prepared, so make sure to grab that sunscreen and leave a jacket or two in your car in case you need it.
Comfy shoes are everything during game days! From the moment you start tailgating, to the end of the game, you will be standing on your feet, so comfy shoes are a must. Keep it cute and comfy with some good ole white Converse or Adidas!
Whether you are in charge of the tailgate or not, you will want to make sure that someone brings a tailgate tent. The tent can be a hassle to have to set up, but you and your friends will be so glad that you have it. It will help keep you out of standing in the sun all day long.
Depending on the weather, you will most likely be spending the day out in the sun, so you will want to be sure to pack some sunglasses and a hat.
Grab your cornhole set and get ready for a tailgate filled with drinking and playing games!
Game days can be very long, from the very start of the day to the end, and you may sweat off your makeup throughout the day. It’s always nice to carry your favorite chapstick and your powder to touch up your makeup during the day, so that you look good in all the pictures you want to take! (Just make sure to only bring the makeup you think you will need so you don’t have to carry around a huge bag all day).
There is no better way to spend your Saturday cheering on your team than doing it with your game day squad! Rally up your friends and make sure everyone is prepared for a big day of drinking, eating and watching some football! This is one of the biggest college game day essentials!
