15 Signs You’re From Frederick Maryland

Growing up in Frederick county is something that a lot of us take pride in! There are so many qualities that make it special that only people from FredCo can relate to. DTF anyone? Here are the 15 signs you are from Frederick Maryland!

1. You have thought the Riverview Plaza sign was a watermelon.

2. You are aware of the term “Fredneck”.

A combination of “Frederick” and “redneck”.

3. You have pride for your county.

Does FredCo sound familiar to you? “Yup, I’m from FredCo” or “FredCo Represent” is something you might say to your fellow non-Frederick friends.

4. You have gone to Downtown Frederick for your prom/homecoming pics or dinner.

Or you have friends (or know of people) who have.

5. Driving through Downtown Frederick can be pretty wild and it’s something you dread.

Well, there are good and bad times driving through Downtown Frederick. You just need to be lucky.

6. Downtown Frederick is the main place you go to hang out.

You also go to Downtown Frederick to capture some rad pics with the murals or by the Frederick Bridge.

7. You go to Westview Theatre to watch the latest movies because that is the only theatre in Frederick County.

8. People look at you weird when you associate Downtown Frederick to “dtf”.

To those of you non-Fredericktonians, “dtf” is what many Frederick locals (primarily the youth) abbreviate for “Downtown Frederick”. Non-Frederick people often mistaken this for, ahem, something else.

9. You reach some sort of farm within a 10-mile radius of Frederick County.

10. You have seen the “Save Katie” post and tweet by your local peers.

Or you have seen the roast before it was taken down.

11. Sometimes you go to malls or outlets outside of Frederick County because you can’t find the things you’re looking for.

You go to the outlets in Hagerstown or Clarksburg to get some nice deals. Sometimes, you go to malls in Montgomery County so you can shop at Forever 21 or Abercrombie. This has happened to you at least once, am I right?

12. You have been to the Keys game/stadium at least once.

13. Or you have had those summer reading bookmarks by the Keys to earn free Baseball tickets when you were younger.

14. You have pity for the empty, yet beloved, Fredericktowne Mall.

Ahh, how sad it is to see the mall that used to be filled with shoppers turn into a ghost mall.

15. You think you know everybody in Frederick because of connections and all, but you really don’t.
