5 Essential Fall Jackets You Need

A girl’s closet is never complete without the proper coats. They are what we are seen most often during the cooler months, as we spend time walking outside from place to place. This fall season is bound to bring all types of weather, most colder than we’d like, so you’re going to want to be prepared with the proper outerwear. Here are five essential fall jackets you need!

1. Peacoat

A peacoat is a jacket that will leave your fall look effortlessly stylish. With so many different fabrics to choose from, you’re bound to find one that matches your comfort and fashion expectations. The jacket is perfect if you’re wearing a suit or for your internship but obviously you can pair the coat with jeans and a T-shirt too.

Just make sure that the length is for you. If you get an ill-fitting peacoat, you’ll be either drowning in your jacket or pulling at the arms for more coverage. Also, you’re going to want to stick with darker fall tones.

2. Fuzzy Fleece

When it’s so cold outside and you don’t even want to get out of bed, you’re going to want a coat that warms the soul and your bones. A fuzzy fleece is a perfect coat to throw on when you have that 8 am class and it’s so frigid outside your face feels as soon as the air hits your cheeks. When washing, make sure to do so carefully, as dried-on soap can lead to dry rough spots on the fabric, leaving your fleece not as soft as it once was.

Also, make sure to hang dry this coat for the same reasons and also to prevent shrinking. Be fair warned when you wear black pants that you may have little fabric pieces stuck to the surface, so just keep a lint roller on hand.

3. Puffy Down Vest

A vest is truly a fall essential. Paired with a sweater or a flannel along with a pair of tall leather boots you have an instant fall look. This jacket is perfect for the days that are not warm enough to go no jacket but you would be hot if you put on a full jacket. Also, the down material is very easy to clean, meaning you will not have to wash this vest with every little stain.

A simple wipe will do in most cases, Regardless, whether you choose to leave your vest open or cold you will look chic, like you’re ready for all that fall may throw your way!

4. Heavy Rain Coat

With the autumn months comes the cold pouring rain. And the feeling of being cold and wet is never pleasant, so you’re going to want a jacket that keeps you dry this fall. A heavy rain slicker with the proper insulation and a quality hood can go a long way.

Also, you may not even need a pesky umbrella, which is a bonus because everyone knows how awkward it can be when you can’t get one to fully close. If you want to make sure that you stay fully dry on those torrential rainy days, you’re going to want a raincoat that reaches at least your mid-thigh.

5. Utility Coat

A utility coat is a perfect jacket to finish any fall look. The jacket is simple, yet gives a look a certain edge and style to it that cannot be replicated by too many other coats. You’re definitely going to want to make sure this coat fits oversized, as it allows for you plenty of room and fabric to be cozy.

Another benefit to this coat is all the pockets, eliminating the need for a bag if you’re just running a few quick errands. Most of these coats already come in fall colors, therefore finding one to suit your fall looks should not be an issue!
