12 Eggnog Recipes You Need To Try This Year

With the year coming to a close and the last of the holidays upon us, one of the most comforting seasonal drinks is eggnog. It’s a drink that’s grown with us—from the childhood days of watching your parents cut the eggnog with milk to spiking the eggnog with alcohol at Christmas parties. Below is a list of eggnog recipes you need to try this year. 

1. Classic Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1/2 Cup of Milk

-1 teaspoon of Nutmeg

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog and 1/2 cup of milk, slowly adding the vanilla extract. One teaspoon is recommended but feel free to adjust for preference. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. When ready to serve, sprinkle nutmeg over top. This is one of the great eggnog recipes that can be served at every holiday party.    

2. Peppermint Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1 Teaspoon of Peppermint Syrup 

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract 

-2 Peppermint Candy Canes, crushed 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the vanilla extract and then the peppermint syrup. One teaspoon of each is recommended but feel free to adjust for preference. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. While chilling, place candy canes in a bag and crush until a fine peppermint candy powder has formed. Dampen the outside of the serving mugs and roll in the peppermint powder until coated on all sides. When ready to serve, sprinkle excess peppermint powders on over top.

3. Gingerbread Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1 teaspoon of Nutmeg

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

-1 teaspoon of Ground Cloves

-1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon

-1 tablespoon of Molasses 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding in the vanilla extract. One teaspoon of is recommended but feel free to adjust for preference. Wisk in nutmeg and ground cloves until smooth, then slowly add the molasses. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. When ready to serve, sprinkle excess peppermint powders on over top.

4. Rum-Spiked Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1 ounces of Rum

-2 teaspoon of Honey

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the vanilla extract. Whisk together the rum and honey in a small bowl until smooth, and add to the simmering eggnog. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. This can be served cold or warmed. 

5. Coconut Eggnog

Ingredients:

-1 cup of Store-bought Eggnog

-13.5 ounces of Sweetened Condensed Milk

-1 tablespoon of Vanilla Extract 

-1/2 Teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together one cup of store-bought eggnog and the entire can of sweetened condensed milk, slowly adding the vanilla extract, and stirring constantly until smooth. Add the ground cinnamon—half a teaspoon is recommended but feel free to adjust for preference. Chill eggnog mixture for at least an hour. When ready to serve, sprinkle coconut shavings over top. 

6. Eggless Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-3 cups of Milk

-1 pack of Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix

-1/4 teaspoon of Nutmeg

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

This recipe is easily done in a blender. In a blender, combine together two cups of store-bought eggnog, the instant vanilla pudding pack, vanilla extract, and nutmeg. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. Mix in three cups of milk. When ready to serve, sprinkle nutmeg over top. 

7. Amaretto Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1 ounces of Amaretto

-2 teaspoon of Honey

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the vanilla extract. Whisk together the Amaretto and honey in a small bowl until smooth, and add to the simmering eggnog. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. This can be served cold or warmed. 

8. Chocolate Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-8-ounces of Store-bought Chocolate Syrup

-1 of ounce Whipped Cream

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the chocolate syrup, and mix until smooth. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.

-3/4 ounces of Pumpkin Puree

-2 teaspoon of Honey

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

-1/2 teaspoon of Cinnamon

-1 teaspoon of Nutmeg 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg until completely smooth. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. When serving, sprinkle with cinnamon.

10. Eggnog Latte

Ingredients:

-1 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-1 ounce of Espresso 

-1 Cup of Milk 

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together each cup of store-bought eggnog and milk, slowly adding the vanilla extract. Add espresso slowly, and move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. This can be served cold over ice or warmed. This is one of the many great variations of classic eggnog recipes.

 

11. Butterscotch Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-8-ounces of Store-bought Butterscotch Syrup

-1 of ounce Whipped Cream

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the butterscotch syrup, and mix until smooth. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. Top with whipped cream if desired. 

12. Cinnamon Eggnog

Ingredients:

-2 Cups of Store-bought Eggnog

-2 teaspoon of Honey

-1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

-2 teaspoon of Cinnamon

-1 teaspoon of Nutmeg 

In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together two cups of store-bought eggnog, slowly adding the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until completely smooth. Move eggnog mixture to glasses and chill for at least an hour. When serving, sprinkle with cinnamon.
