10 Drugstore Makeup Items Worth Trying ASAP

Makeup is an industry with constantly evolving trends to keep up with. With brands putting out new products every week, there is always something to look forward to if you’re a makeup enthusiast. Thing is, it can get to be very costly.

For all my makeup gurus out there who are not down to spend hundreds of dollars a month on new products, I’ve compiled a list of drugstore makeup dupes that will blow your mind (but not your wallet)!

1. Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter

Highlighter has become a makeup staple. It is no longer considered the eccentric addition that it once was; rather, highlighter has mashed itself into our everyday looks. And thank heavens it has, because that shimmery compress can make anything look more alive.

There are a lot of drugstore makeup highlighters out there. Maybelline dropped the most amazingly affordable highlighter known to humanity; The Master Chrome. I’ve already gone through three of these bad boys; they come in different shades depending on skin tone. And trust me, there is nothing subtle about this formula.

2. Nyx Eyeshadow Palette – Warm Neutrals

Everyone needs a neutral palette. Your browns and golds are super versatile; you can wear them for an everyday look or dress them up with shimmer shadows. Nyx is a fantastic drugstore makeup brand and their eyeshadow palette in “Warm Neutrals” is the ideal everyday look that will absolutely not break your bank. With sixteen pigmented colors ranging from warm tones to pink shimmers, what more could one really ask for at twenty-two bucks? It’s basically a steal.

3. Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream

I’ve always been a lip gloss girl, considering that my experience with anything relatively close to lipstick would turn my lips drier than the desert. That was until I discovered the Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream. In over twenty-four different shades of beige, pinks, and purples, Nyx Lip Cream gives lipstick a whole new meaning. My personal favourite: London, a mid-tone beige.

Also.. nine bucks people.

4. L’Oreal Paris Infallible Contour Stick

Contouring is not part of everyone’s everyday makeup routine, so when you do it, you want it to be killer.

L’Oreal’s Infallible Contour Stick, which comes in many different shades, is a creamy formula that you can easily intensify based on the look you desire.

5. Maybelline Dark Circles Treatment Concealer

We may not think people see that we only got three hours of sleep last night, but they do.

Maybelline’s Dark Circles Concealer has got us covered. This formula brightens and doesn’t crease. It’s also only thirteen dollars, which is why it’s been purchased multiple times.

6. CoverGirl Blush

CoverGirl is a classic drugstore makeup brand. I’ve been playing with CoverGirl’s blushes since I was a kid – my mom used to have dozens of them scattered in her makeup collection.

It’s a subtle, but super pretty addition to any look.

7. Maybelline Volume Express Colossal Mascara

Being someone who’s in between eyelash extensions, I always need a staple mascara in my collection. Maybelline Volume Express always keeps me coming back. Best part; it doesn’t clump!

8. L’Oreal Back To Bronze Bronzer

Bronzer makes us all feel prettier.

L’Oreal’s Back to Bronze bronzer is the solution to our sickly pale faces in the winter. It’s a pigmented product, so I recommended dipping your brush in once or twice. It can also be used as a contour and a shadow!

9. Maybelline Dream BB Cream

Foundation can get heavy on our faces all day long. If you opt for a more natural, sheer type of coverage, BB cream is your answer! Maybelline’s Dream BB Cream is a light, fluffy formula that provides a moisturizing sheer coverage and a dewy finish.

10. e.l.f. Prismatic Lip Gloss

Cheap glosses are virtually the biggest sellers at any drugstore, simply due to the sheer volume of options. Some are amazing, and some merit their price tag. E.l.f.’s Prismatic Lip Gloss definitely does not merit its price of four dollars. It can be worn on its own or as a shimmer topper for lipstick. The most important bit of info: it doesn’t stick!
