Cute Hairstyles For Warm Weather

Need cute hairstyles that will keep you cool on even the hottest of summer days? Nothing is worse than feeling the sweat drip down your neck when your hair feels to be suffocating you. Whether you have long, short, thick, or thin hair, there’s a style here for you. Check out the hottest hairstyles you need to be showing off during the warm weather months!

High Pony

The high pony is such a simple and elegant look. It keeps hair out of your face, and hair off your neck. This hairstyle is perfect for a casual look, or dress it up by wearing statement earrings that will get the chance to stick out. High ponytails are my go-to for any summertime graduation parties or weddings. Wearing a simple dress, big earrings and my hair slicked back is such a mature and classy look. It’s also a great way to style your hair for work. It’ll stay out of the way and you’ll never worry about running to the ladies room to fix it, you know its slicked into place! To hide your hair elastic, simply wrap a thin piece of hair around the elastic and tuck it under. After styling, lightly spray with your favorite hairspray, Big Sexy Hair Spray is a great one, and you’re good to go.

Double French Braid Ponytails

If you love wearing French braids, you’re going to become obsessed with this hairstyle. When I think of warm weather hairstyles, I automatically think of braids. Something about them is just so beachy. Why do one French braid when you could rock two? For this look, you’re going to need to know how or know someone who knows how to French braid. If you don’t, click here for a variety of easy-to-follow tutorials! All you need to do is French braid each half of your hair down to your neck, right where your hairline ends. Then wrap a hair elastic around each side and you have two ponytails! Carefully pull apart the braids for a looser, more relaxed look. This is perfect for any summer day.

Fishtail Braid

Believe it or not, fishtail braiding is easier than any French braid I’ve tried. This look is so trendy and looks much more complicated than it really is. People might even think you got this style professionally done! Simply fishtail your hair into one large braid, tying the elastic about two to three inches from the ends of your hair. For tutorials on how to fishtail, click here. To create a thicker look, gently pull the braid apart and your braid will look softer and much thicker. Pull pieces of hair in front of your face to complete the look. You can wear your braid straight behind you or to either side. I consider this more of a daytime hairstyle, meaning wearing it to barbecues, graduation parties, street fairs, or walks through the village.

Low Bun

The low bun is the easiest hairstyle there is, and it creates such a classy look. There are two ways you can go with a low bun. A tighter low bun is a more sophisticated look. Tie your hair into a tight knot right in the back of your neck, and pull a strand of hair around each side of your face. This creates the perfect five-minute hairstyle you can wear to work or any meeting. For a more chilled back look, create a loose low bun by simply throwing your hair into a messy bottom knot. Allow for many wisps of hair to surround your face for a messier look! This is great for any morning coffee dates or bonfire nights.

French Braid into Pony

Similar to the double French braid ponytails, you’re going to create this look by French braiding your hair. This time, you’re going to braid straight back instead of on each side. At the same area (the beginning of your neck/end of your hairline) you’re going to tie the elastic. I tend to keep this braid a little tighter than other braided hairstyles, but feel free to go back in and loosen up your braid. Pull a few very thin wisps of hair around your face, but not larger than the thickness of a pencil. Rock this hairstyle with any sundress, romper or jumpsuit of your choice!

Low Pony

Similar to the high pony hairstyle, this look is so simple and is perfect to wear anytime, anywhere. Simply comb through your hair, making sure there are no knots or tangles, and pull it back into a low pony. Tie the hair elastic right at the top of your neck, where your hairline ends. Pull pieces of your hair around your face and let them hang loose. I recommend taking a curling iron and curling these pieces away from your face. I also like to add loose curls into my low ponytails so that they look thicker than my hair really is. This hairstyle is perfect for work, parties, dinner dates, or bar nights. You can show off this style wherever you go.

Top Knot

Top knots, or messy buns, are such a fun and sexy look to strut around in. This hairstyle is perfect for days you want to look good, but don’t want to look as if you tried to. I recommend this hairstyle for coffee dates, dinner on the beach, or even for a pool party. This look is definitely more laid back, so I wouldn’t go into work with this hairstyle. Make sure to pull loose pieces of hair around your face to help add a little shape to it. This hairstyle looks best with oversized t-shirts, cropped sweaters with denim shorts, or biker shorts and a zip-up hoodie. Once you ace the perfect top knot look, you’re going to want to pull this look off every day.

Don’t Forget to Accessorize

Spice up any of these up-dos with pony scarves or headbands! These adorable hair accessories come in all different colors and patterns and will complete any look. Wrap pony scarves around top knots, and high or low ponytails, or throw on a headband with your French braids. If you like to leave your hair down, you can accessorize with a headband or try out a half-up half-down hairstyle with a pony scarf! These are relatively cheap and can be bought at many clothing stores such as Forever21, Free People, Francescas or Urban Outfitters.
