5 Clothing Brands For Curvy Girls You Need To Know About

There have always been curvy girls. Sir Mix A Lot raved about our “big butts” in the 90’s, Queen, created a ballad for “fat bottomed girls” in the 70’s, and there’s no limit to the songs about us now. But just because we curvy women are revered in the music industry, doesn’t mean we’ve always had a voice in the fashion industry (until recently). Luckily, girls like Ashley Graham, Iskra Lawrence, Denise Bidot and Marquita Pring (to name a few) have paved the way for curvy representation in the fashion world; giving all the curvy girls out there a voice and some new stores to shop at. Here are the 5 clothing brands for curvy girls you need to know about!

Target – Who What Wear

The day that Target released a line from Who What Wear, was the day my bank account got considerably smaller. This is one of many brands at Target that offer Plus size options, offering up to a 4X in shirts, skirts, dresses, and pants. This brand is not only great for its inclusive sizing options, the clothes themselves are totally stylish and chic. This isn’t simply a place to get plus-size t-shirts and flowy dresses; the entire line is full of color, interesting textures and fabrics, and great structure and fit, so you won’t be left looking boxy or unkempt.

Forever 21 Plus

I have to give Forever 21 props for being one of the first stores to have a substantial Plus Size section in the store itself. I love Forever 21 for its trendy, inexpensive pieces, and the sheer variety of options.  This is a must for girly dresses, cute floral tops, and denim shorts for summer!

Good American

In true Kardashian fashion, Good American is known for jeans that accentuate all your assets (pun definitely intended). Good American is big on inclusive sizes and range from a 00 to a 24. They even give the option to see the jeans modeled on two different sized women. How cool is that?

ASOS

If you’re an online shopper, ASOS is the place for you. Their ASOS Curve line is perfect for the curvier girl, and you can even filter their clothing by size. ASOS has every type of clothes you could imagine, so you will not be short on options. They even have their own prom line!
