The university is conveniently placed very closely to the Banff Trail, allowing you to pack up and head for a weekend of exploration, right after classes on Friday! Thursden, for those of you who don’t know what it is, is the Den’s student appreciation night! There is no need to go with friends, because you’re bound to meet new people and make new friends. But you should be warned: Thursden drink specials are going to be your best friend on Saturday night, and your worst nightmare on Sunday morning.
The University of Calgary offers quantity, and quality in their varsity sports teams! If you aren’t interested in varsity sports, intramural sports teams are also available! With a large amount of athletic clubs around campus, finding a group for you shouldn’t be difficult. Of course, there are particular events on and around campus, where all Dinos gather, to support their fellow athletes, like the U of C Kickoff, and the Crowchild Classic!
Downtown Calgary has so many cute shops, record stores, casual cafes, thrift shops etc! All of it, and more, is only a short C-Train ride away from the university campus. The nightlife is impressive, as there is always somewhere new to try out, on your Saturday night! Fun and free activities are a university student’s best friend, when you are bored of drinking every weekend. If you attend the University of Calgary, you will, undoubtedly, meet people who know how to have fun, without killing your bank account.
