The arrival of spring denotes shopping for a new wardrobe particularly for major fashion addicts. The tendency, however, is that people lean towards more summer-y clothes than transitional clothes once the positive temperatures hit. In other words, we tend to disregard that spring comes first before summer! Although many retail stores begin selling bare and light weight pieces in the beginning of March, this does not mean we have to spend on such styles right away. We need to be more selective when it comes to buying spring pieces because not all countries experience a consistent positive temperature streak once the spring months hit. Here are our favourite transitional clothes that are not only stylish but also practical when the weather becomes bipolar.
The annual resurgence of mock necks is generally a sign of the arrival of spring. While turtlenecks and cowl necks provide full skin coverage and sufficient warmth, these transitional pieces slightly liberate the neck to allow us to soak in those temperature spikes but still maintain style.

Culottes are not everyone’s cup of tea. However, when coordinated properly, these transitional pieces show their style potential and can easily become a winter to spring staple. Knit culottes are warm enough for winter but provide enough allowance on the legs to make them appropriate for spring.

These pieces stress the importance of choosing the right fabrics during the spring season. Knit dresses that are made of Merino wool and cashmere dresses not only provide you with enough skin coverage and warmth, but also the right amount of sensuality for dates or those spontaneous rendezvous at the bar. They are also appropriate in the office!

One of the most versatile transitional pieces that has always been in demand is the jumpsuit, which is gradually succeeding the modern cocktail dress. Whether it’d be for a daytime brunch or a VIP event, the jumpsuit has never been a let down because it coordinates well with layering pieces and various accessories.

While structured trench coats exhibit total style, not all women are comfortable wearing them when they need to make a quicky grocery run. Hence, comes the emergence of flowy trench coats. Easy, breezy, and chic, these transitional pieces fully embody the “tie and go” principle.

Leather skirts never go out of style! A good wind breaker, leather is considered stylish because of its texture, which adds variety to an outfit. Many luxury brands create fall and winter pieces made out of leather because of its durability and ability to hold dye well. Though leather is generally not suitable in extreme winters, it is still an effective layering fabric in the fall or spring seasons.
