Best Ways To Style Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots have made their way back to stores and are here to stay! Check out the Best Ways to Style Cowboy Boots if you’re wondering how to rock the new “it girl” boot of the year.

Cowboy Boots weren’t always known as a staple shoe in fashion, but originally designed for working cowboys, and were seen worn as early as the 18th century. They weren’t just known as shoe, but symbolized something a lot bigger as a part of a certain way of living. Fast forward to 2021 and cowboy boots have become the ultimate fashion statement. You can find these boots ranging in all sorts of colors and designs. The cowboy boot trend has been seen in many retail stores, from your typical mall shops, to online brands, and luxury designers. Cowboy boots have become a huge part of street style, worn during nearly every time of the year. If you finally got your hands on a pair of cowboy boots and don’t know where to go from there, here are some of my favorite pieces of clothing that I have seen cowboy boots styled with!

1. Leather On Leather

Whether it’s a leather jacket, crop top, pants, etc., leather on leather has always been one of my favorite trendy looks that can work for either day and nighttime. Anyone who pairs leather on leather automatically looks badass and ready to take on anything. Pairing a leather article of clothing with cowboy boots is another way to utilize leather on leather, as most cowboy boots are made from leather or faux leather. Cowboy boots are normally made from cowhide leather in particular, as they are designed to be very durable. If you want to purchase a more affordable pair that is also more ethically acceptable, a lot of popular, wallet friendly fashion brands are using the cowboy boot trend more than ever, and made from faux leather. I especially love this leather on leather look by pairing a brown leather mini skirt with some knee high cowboy boots and a cute crop top or flannel!

2. Midi Dress Moment

Who doesn’t love a midi dress? Whether it’s a cocktail style dress or a flowy, daytime look, cowboy boots add a unique shoe choice to pair with this style dress. I would recommend going for a shorter length pair of cowboy boots to add a little room to show skin depending on how long your midi dress is. This look will be eye catching and really perfect for any season!

3. The Classic Little Black Dress

Every fashion lover has heard the infamous term “Little Black Dress” at some point in their lives and most likely has at least one go to dress hanging in their wardrobe. The term was originally adapted by the famous designs of Coco Chanel and continues to be a top selling product for women everywhere. The LBD is super timeless, so it is definitely something worth investing in.Instead of styling your LBD with some typical high heels for a fancy event, style with a pair of your go to cowboy boots for a more fun, whimsical look! Don’t be afraid to shop for some more extreme cowboy boots, such as an animal print pair or bright neon color to contrast against the black dress. Pair with a baguette purse that matches your boots and you’re good to go!

4. A Trendy Blazer

Blazers have become the ultimate jacket choice for adding to both casual or dressed up looks. The meaning of a blazer has truly been reinvented, once known as a jacket used to create a business casual look paired with some matching trousers. However, oversized blazers are now one of the number one pieces seen in both high end stores and more affordable online sites, so you can choose which type of blazer is right for you! I would personally style my blazer and cowboy boot look with a mini dress paired with an oversized neutral colored blazer and some high knee cowboy boots.

5. Jean Queen

Everyone has that go to pair of jeans in their closet that will forever remain their favorite pair for any occasion. If you buy a pair of cowboy boots, be sure to experiment your looks with different styled jeans. Skinny jeans with cowboy boots tucked is an easy way to recreate this look, but if you have forever ditched skinny jeans, (which is a rightfully acceptable decision), try pairing with a flare styled jean instead! Flare jeans with cowboy boots automatically gives off a western, care free look. If you are feeling extra daring, pair with an oversized flannel or plaid jacket to live out your cowgirl fantasy!

6. The Oversized Tee

Oversized T-shirts have always been a staple piece in my wardrobe. They are perfect for when you don’t feel like planning out a complete fit but still want to look cute and presentable. The casual vibe of oversized graphic tees mixed with cowboy boots automatically gives you a trendy OOTD that requires little effort. Pair you tee with some ripped denim shorts or jeans for the ultimate every day fit for a casual hangout with friends, running errands, or even taking a photoshoot!

7. Biker Shorts

Biker shorts are another fashion trend that was once used for one strict use only of working out. Now biker shorts are a sexy, fun look to replace your traditional denim shorts or leggings. Biker shorts are super versatile and can be paired so many ways. I recommend pairing your shorts with a crop top, oversized t-shirt, denim jacket, or hoodie, then of course finish the look with a pair of cowboy boots! This look is best for day time, but if you’re feeling creative feel free experiment with your biker shorts look to create a fit for a night out!
