So, here are five of the best vegan restaurants in Southern California that you got to check out!
This little store is 100% plant based kitchen that serves…wait for it…vegan pizza! These are the best vegan pizzas I have ever tried, and they even have a selection of pastas, calzones, and vegan desserts for those looking for something a little different. Vegan Korner is a church ran shop that is supported by the local Seventh Day Adventist congregation. Support small businesses and eat local, with this little place right in Colton, there is no excuse not to make the trip!
This place is a full service restaurant that serves vegan Mexican food and sushi. Their Mexican favorites includes their coconut “shrimp” tacos, asada fries, and red enchiladas. The sushi menu is pretty extensive with rolls that have vegan crab, shrimp, and eel sauce. They also have a dessert and kid’s menu with everything under $9 a plate. Mexican and Japanese food may not seem like they would go together, but believe me, it is delicious!
Plus, if you are looking to have some cocktails after work, they have a full bar so you can grab a tequila pineapple, martini, or beer to go with your fusion meal.
This place is a gastropub in Echo Park that serves vegan, vegetarian, and meat alike, but everything is made vegan unless otherwise ordered. They have an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu, which they are famous for that includes “calamari,” vegan pizzas, and artichoke tacos. The portions are decent size, so if you don’t go during happy hour, then be prepared to take some leftovers home.
They also serve many different craft beer brews that is sure to satisfy even the pickiest drinker. Plus, they have happy hour times during the week to keep portions and cost in control!
Former In N’ Out junkies rejoice! This new chain of fast-food restaurants has a classic menu of burgers, shakes, and fries that will rival that of the meat lover’s chain. Their burger patty’s are the impossible burger with vegan cheese, which you can get a double-double of, and a side of fries that you can order smothered in onions and vegan thousand island. Their shakes are all plant based and come in vanilla and chocolate flavors, and they also serve craft sodas as well. This cute diner is the go-to for American fare that will satisfy your junk food cravings.
Tip: try the sriracha aioli sauce with the fries, it is amazing!
This family run restaurant is not technically a vegan restaurant, but they have a full vegetarian and vegan menu which includes orange beef, sweet and sour chicken, and honey walnut shrimp. Vegan Chinese food is difficult to find, so I thought that this should be on the list due to its lack of availability. To make the daily lunch deals vegan, just swap the won-tons and egg rolls for their vegetable soup and you got yourself a full vegan feast. These delicious items come in larger portions so be prepared to share, or take some leftovers home with you!
