Austin Summer Concerts That You Have To Check Out

With summer right around the corner, the music capital of Texas is truly about to thrive. There will be no shortage of concerts and/or festival to attend. With so many, it can get a little overwhelming to figure out which ones you absolutely have to go to. Yes, I know, they’re all necessary, but there are so many in Austin over the summer. These are the Austin summer concerts that you have to check out if you want to avoid the dreaded FOMO.

Blues On The Green

This summer, head over to Zilker Park for one of the largest free outdoor concerts in central Texas. You’re going to want to pack a towel and maybe some snacks since the line for the concessions can be longer than the line for the bathroom. But once you’re there, all you have to do is take a seat on the green grass and listen to some awesome music surrounded by the best vibes Austin has to offer. If you want, you can push closer to the front for the pique auditory experience, or you can just chill way out there in the back with your friends. Either way, this is a fun experience and you’ll make some awesome memories. There are also a ton free concerts just like this one to check out this summer as well. Just stay tuned for those announcements!

ACL Live

This concert series starts right now and goes all the way through October, so if you want to be a part of it, you better get your tickets now. This series features artists like Vampire Weekend, Snow Patrol, Chris Stapleton, blackbear, Jessie James Decker, Juice WRLD, Anjelah Johnson, and Carly Rae Jepson. Aside from getting tickets to some quality stand-up (I’m looking at you Anjelah), you’re also getting to see some awesome artists right here in the heart of Austin. For instance, Carly Rae Jepson will be out here performing from her new album not set to drop until May. So you definitely don’t want to miss out on this. But you better snag your tickets soon, because some artists in this series are starting to sell out.

Twenty One Pilots

Mark your calendars because June 23rd is when Twenty One Pilots will be at the Frank Erwin Center. Let your alternative rock side out with this group that always puts on a great show!

Jon Bellion: The Glory Sound Prep Tour

Okay. Jon Bellion can put on one hell of a show. I’m serious. If you missed out on his Human Condition Tour, then you need to add The Glory Sound Prep Tour to your concert list this summer ASAP. Not only are his performances authentic to the tracks, they’re still personalized to the audience. On June 30th, this artist will be at the H-E-B Center and you can bet I will be there.

Willie Nelson’s Fourth Of July Picnic

There’s truly nothing more Texas than a 4th of July picnic featuring the tunes of Willie Nelson. Literally nothing. Get your tickets now for this awesome event at the Austin360 Amphitheatre.

Float Fest 2019

A little south of Austin is the annual Float Fest and this is the epitome of a Texas concert. Located right on the San Marcos river, you’re going to need an inner tube to participate. So grab your squad and BYOB and head to the river as quick as you can this summer. This festival features artists like Lil Wayne, Cashmere Cat, Snoop Dogg, Tame Impala, and so many more. You haven’t done a concert in Austin until you’ve done a Float Fest. Trust me.

Fleetwood Mac

Excuse me while I scream. Fleetwood Mac is coming back to Austin for the second time this year. After their tour stop here in February, it looks like they’re coming back this September. Having missed them in February, you can bet I’m planning on seeing them this time around. It’s the perfect concert to close out your own personal summer concert series.

Do you know of any other concerts in Austin that we just have to check out? Tell me in the comments below!
