10 Tips For Organising A Small Dorm Room

Dorm rooms don’t provide a lot of space. It’s super easy to make a mess and get disorganised. However, with a few simple solutions you can keep your dorm room in shape and clutter free. Here are 10 tips for organising a small dorm room.

1. Get rid of everything you don’t need

There’s no use in keeping things that are collecting dust. Clear out the things you aren’t going to use. Either give them away or sell them to earn some money.

2. Use the space under your bed

If you have a gap under your bed, you can neatly store things under here in containers. The great thing is that it’s out of the way and hidden.

3. Take advantage of vertical storage

If you don’t have a lot of floor space, it’s best to store things vertically. A tall wardrobe or desk with shelves would be perfect for this.

4. Unified coat hangers

Keeping all your coat hangers the same will give a clean and organised look. You can get bundles of black plastic ones or even wood style ones really cheap.

5. Use racks

Wall hangers and racks are also a great way to keep things up off the floor. Hang towels, hats, bags and many other items on them.

7. Use a makeup organiser

You can find these super cheap on eBay. They’re perfect for keeping our makeup tidy and less space consuming.

8. Use jars in the bathroom

Mason jars are perfect for storing items. Keep cotton buds, hair ties, body scrubs, bobby pins or other bathroom items in them. They look clean and can easily be stacked.

10. Keep surfaces clean

Don’t clutter the surface of your desk or bedside table. Keep things put away in drawers, containers or jars instead.

11. Use old suitcases for tables

These are perfect for simultaneously storing items and acting as a table surface. The vintage style ones look especially great in a room.
