8 Movie Characters’ Bedrooms I Want

Teenage bedrooms are your sanctuary. It’s the one room in your house that is totally yours, and it’s the one place where you can completely express yourself. This is why I want to focus on kids’ and teenagers’ bedrooms in movies because movie characters always have the best bedrooms. Growing up, we’ve all wanted to style our room like theirs so badly (and maybe still do).

Here are 10 movie characters’ bedrooms I want.

1. Lara Jean’s bedroom in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Firstly, I love the colour of the walls. And the intricate flower designs on them are gorgeous. I also love her vintage desk; it has so much character. It totally beats any modern desk. And I love her hanging basket seat. I’ve always wanted a hanging basket seat, and I still do. This one looks like the ultimate luxury.

2. Lady Bird’s bedroom in Lady Bird

Lady Bird’s bedroom walls are such an expression of her personality, and the mess on the floor is super relatable. There’s quite a bit of writing on the wall which our parents would totally kill us for, but Lady Bird just knows how to get away with things. The writing, posters, and cut-outs on the wall emanate teen angst and growth. And when she paints over her walls at the end? What a bittersweet coming of age moment.

3. Simon’s bedroom in Love, Simon

I love Simon’s chalk paint walls. As soon as I found out this was a thing, I wanted it. Chalkboard walls are so personalised – it’s like a noticeboard, art canvas and quote board all in one. And if you get sick of something, then you can just rub it off. Also, he has a massive desk with a cool noticeboard and bookshelf which is every desk-fanatic’s dream.

4. Cher’s bedroom in Clueless

Cher’s bedroom was every 90’s girl’s dream. She has a massive wardrobe with the coolest and most stylish clothes. Cher was outfit goals. And she has a digital clothes-finding system on her computer. How cool is it that she can find her clothes on her computer and mix and match all of her outfits? And why is this still not a thing?

5. Mia’s bedroom in If I Stay

Mia’s room is a simplistic design, simply decorated and is probably the closest to what our teenage bedrooms look like in real life (if they were tidy). What I love most is how Adam made Mia’s ceiling look like the ceiling in Juilliard so she’d feel at home when she moved away to her dream school. Adam is totally boyfriend goals!

6. Richie Rich’s bedroom in Richie Rich

I admit I can’t recall what Richie Rich’s bedroom looks like – but it’s got to be fancy. When I first watched Richie Rich when I was younger, I was in awe to see he had his very own McDonalds in his home (more like mansion). Who wouldn’t want a McDonalds in their home? That’s the coolest thing ever! He also has a bowling alley and a rollercoaster and just about anything else you can think of.

7. Mia’s bedroom in The Princess Diaries

Mia lives in a firehouse-turned-art-studio house with her Mum. She’s got two firemen poles to slide down to go from her bedroom to the rest of the house. How cool! Who wouldn’t want one fire pole, let alone two? It totally beats stairs. She has a secret room in her bedroom called a ‘tower.’ Again, who else wouldn’t want a secret room in their bedroom? Why would Mia ever want to leave this bedroom for the one in Genovia?

8. Mia’s bedroom in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

Okay, so her bedroom in the palace is pretty cool too. It’s super fancy and spacious and gold themed. And she has a massive walk-in closet. Actually, it’s a crime to just call it a walk-in closet when it’s so much more than that. And practically everything is remote controlled which is super convenient. She’s even got hidden compartments with tiaras. This closet is definitely fit for a queen.

What’s your favourite room out of movie characters’ bedrooms I’ve included? Which one do you want? What movie characters’ bedrooms do you want that I haven’t included?
