Ah! The latter end of the year – when school winds down for another semester and it’s time for a break… Alas, this extended break is also the perfect time for mother’s to drag their kids to go shopping for brand new school supplies. Thankfully, we don’t have to do that in university and college – at least not with Mum. While the store aisles are flooded by mother hens and their young, the advantage to this time of the year (and onwards into January), are the massive “Back to School” sales. So, after many shopping trips, consumer observation (people watching) and online trolling, I have created a list of eight college backpack essentials for your school bag next semester. Remember to take notes!
[Please be aware: that these supplies come in many styles and colours and the examples are merely exhibiting the nature of the product. Calm down. We won’t make you buy a unicorn lunchbox if it doesn’t float your boat]
These are unlike your usual black/red/blue biro pen, as they hold a whole lot of character! People often flock about Typo’s shelves and Novelty Pens, cute knick knacks like these are constantly under admiration. I myself bought one with a white unicorn on the end… for research purposes of course.
There is also a large range of diary’s and notebooks sold at our beloved, Typo. This particular diary is a good size, and is definitely one of the better college backpack essentials needed in your school back since it’ll fit perfectly! There are various creative and humorous designs for these diary’s and it is a great tool to have to organise yourself in student life.
#3 “Small Punnet Container”
Our final star from Typo is this adorable and highly portable “punnet” lunch box with a graphic on the lid. Again, the kind of colours and graphics for these containers come in various shades and colours. The containers themselves have three internal sections to make it easier to keep food separate from the rest. The lid clips on, alike any tupperware model. This is perfect for anyone with a small bag or who is a looking for a more efficient way to eat lunch.
If you want some stylish new lined notepads, but don’t want to spend the $20 to get them, then these are just right. Great designs and great pricing. These come in packet for two.
Bought one of these for my fiance so he wouldn’t be walking about, dehydrated, or, with warm water after time. These bottles come in many interesting colours and with different graphics on them. Great for travel and sports related activities, with no possibility to break or snap off the lid at all. Made with Stainless steal.
Having some quirky and colourful stationary is one of the best college backpack essentials since you always will need writing utensils for class! Brighter colours are often inclined to create a happy, cheery and smiling from ear to ears. In this case, we have Yoobi’s Fuzzy pencil case.
Comsol’s powerbank, can be used to charge your phone or tablet on the go, comes with a USB cable to recharge the powerbank, slim design for portability. Comes in Various colours.
Back in the day, Smiggle used to be the go-to place for stationary for every girl in my class. I remember my friend having scented highlighters like these. Smiggle is still a lovely store with unique ideas, scents and very bright, vibrant colours. These highlighters are scented in various flavours, dual ended and come in ten colours.
While this list of favourites is only a brief one, I encourage you all to check the above suggestions out or even go make similar discoveries of your own. There are so many amazing design for all kinds of stationary, and people will always need notepads, pens and stainless steel drink bottles. Oh, and don’t forget the key rings!
Have an amazing week, and I hope that all your shopping trips are productive ones 🙂

"Hi there! I am a Brisbane based student studying music, theology and Christian ministries. Reading and writing is something that planted a seed in my heart since I was young. Writing of stories, articles, poems and songs... they are all art forms. Arts break down that forth wall between writer and reader, performer and audience, painter and canvas. Art is an international language, and if you are so blessed with the gift of creativity, I believe it is your duty to create your legacy, leave a creative, informative and a blessed trail for others to find and relate with. That, is why I write. Enjoy!"
