Did you know college students can make money remotely? I know it can be challenging juggling coursework and staying afloat financially. College tuition is expensive, and the books and supplies are no different. No one tells you the pressures of being a full-time student while dealing with this, but hows this working remotely offers a flexible schedule so you won’t get behind in school! Here are 10 ways college students can make money remotely.

Freelance Work

Freelance work is the top way you could make money remotely as a college student, whether writing, proofreading, editing, or otherwise. If you consider yourself up for the task, freelancing offers many opportunities to earn online. This was one of my first remote jobs as a college student, and I must say I deem it a huge stepping stone in getting started virtually. Freelancing online can have you working with a broad range of topics; you choose your workload of significant projects that you love. 

   

Audio Transcription

Audio transcription is a great way to earn extra money and is in huge demand. You have to listen to the audio and write down exactly what it says. Easy right? Do you have fantastic listening skills, pay attention to detail, and the ability to type? If so, this is the perfect online job for you! Usually, transcription companies require you to take a transcription assessment and pass it, duh. Some companies that offer transcription positions are Fiverr, Rev, Transcription Outsourcing, etc. 

   

Online Tutoring

Tutoring is pretty significant when you just need the help, and having those willing to fulfill that need is a must. Online tutoring allows you to help individuals in various subjects, English and Math being highly sought after subjects taught online. Likewise, essay writing is a popularity for the job. If you are a college student who enjoys helping others and teaching interests you, this will be perfect. You work at your own paste and set your own schedule, typically working individually with students through video, phone calls, or email. 

Customer Service Rep

Being a customer service representative as a college student has the possibility of flexible working hours, and numerous companies provide entry-level and no-experience positions. You have to find the right fit for you. Most remote customer service jobs are looking for candidates who have excellent communication skills, are detail-oriented, are quick learners, and can work in a fast-paced environment. Sounds like you? That’s great! Some agencies also provide the proper equipment, including the computer and software, except the headset and microphone, which could be found on amazon. Don’t be alarmed. They usually tell you the exact kind to buy. A few companies: Everise, Concentrix, Teleformance, etc.

I know everyone has heard of youtube but don’t get me wrong, it is excellent to help college students make money remotely. In all honesty, It will take some time, and you have to be willing to stick it out. No one becomes the top influencer overnight, and it’s best to be aware of this when considering it. Build a platform that you are genuinely proud of and make your focus something meaningful to you. Video content is a significant way our social society moves forward, and creating entertainment is in popular demand.

Another way to make money from the comfort of your college dorm room is audiobook narration. It speaks for itself. All you need to do is record books to be listened to by the public. Audiobooks have become favored by those on the go that enjoy a good book. If you are a college student who can bring the essential emotion of a narrative to life and share the characters’ excitement through your words, this is ideal for you to do to make money remotely.   

 

Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistance is a growing business, and it’s a good start for college students in the job market. To become a virtual assistant, most employees look for candidates with a high school diploma or higher degree, depending on the needed roles. Some are entry-level, no, experience positions to which candidates go through an assessment process. Some employees also look for the ability to multitask, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle phone calls, schedules, emails, and filing documents.
