10 Reasons I’m Thankful For NYC

NYC is one of the greatest cities in the world, and for a good reason. The city that never sleeps has endless things to do, and places to see. Here are the ten reasons I’m thankful for NYC.

1. Diversity.

I’m so thankful for the diversity in NYC. It’s the reason why I love the city so much. You see people who come from all different backgrounds, and that’s exactly what makes it so different. We’re also lucky enough to have one of the most diverse boroughs in the world, Queens.

2. Endless food choices.

NYC is known for being the melting pot of the world. One of the perks that comes along with that is the variation of food. Want pizza? Got it. Want Mediterranean? Got it. Want Mexican food? We have that too.

3. Times Square.

To be able to say that I live so close to one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions is such a privilege.

4. Limitless transportation.

Transportation is seriously so accessible; it’s not even debatable. Available 24 hours of the day, 7 days a week. Take a subway, request an Uber or just jump in a taxi.

5. It has taught me independence.

I can’t even tell you the amount of times I’ve gotten lost taking the wrong subway line or trying to figure out how to get to a certain street. Figuring it all out on my own has surely taught me how to be more independent.

6. Central Park.

It’s nice to escape the craziness of the city once in a while, and Central Park is perfect for that. It’s a great place to go for a walk or a bike ride.

7. The views.

No matter where you go, the views are seriously impeccable. If you haven’t done so already, head over to the Brooklyn Bridge, or Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City. They’re some of the best views you’ll ever see.

8. Fashion.

New York Fashion Week is hosted here. Do I really need to say more?

9. Christmastime.

You truly feel the holiday spirit like no other in the Big Apple. Between ice skating in Central Park, the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, there’s no other place I’d rather be for the holidays.

10. Endless internship and job opportunities.

I’m seriously so grateful to say that I live here. It’s home to many of the world’s largest companies. So if you live in NYC, take advantage! Apply to as many internships as you can because they may lead to a job. People seriously move here just for this very reason.
