10 Little Black Dresses We Love

Okay ladies lets be realistic, we all know that little black dresses (LBD) are an essential part of our wardrobe. Not only can you style it up or down, but an LBD works for almost every occasion. Black never seems to go out of style and no matter what season it is, you can always make it work. However, with fall underway and winter quickly approaching the amount of little black dresses we see on a daily basis will increase drastically. So, if you’re on the hunt for the perfect LBD to add to your closet, here are 10 styles of little black dresses to get you started.

1. LBD with Cardigan

Is it a bit chilly out? No problem! Slip on your favorite little black dress hanging up in your closet and throw an oversized cardigan over top – voila. You can even add a wide brim hat to make your look a bit more edgy. Booties are also a good item to pair with your LBD, that can either dress the outfit up or down, whichever is necessary for the occasion.

2. Lace LBD

Lace dresses are usually meant for more formal occasions, such as weddings or dances. A lot of individuals choose to wear a black dress so they can add fashion statements such as a large necklace or bright colored shoes to express their individuality/personality. However, if your LBD has a touch of lace, this is the perfect punch of boldness as it gives the dress a little more pop!

3. Side Slit LBD

This type of LBD offers more of an eloquent and sophisticated look. Black is said to be an extremely flattering color for most people, making them feel sexier and slimmer. You can dress this look up with a pair of heels and fancy clutch. Or you can make it a little less formal and throw on a pair of flats or booties, and a big scarf; making it an every day wear kind of dress.

4. Laser Cut LBD

Laser cut fabric is definitely one of the newer trends this year, you can find it many stores such as Forever21, H&M, and Urban Outfitters. Due to the fabric’s unique cut, this particular dress would be better for warmer weather so you can show off the beautiful detail. Although that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it when the weather gets a little colder. You can always throw on a pair of tights and a jacket and you’re good to go!

5. Old School LBD

As embodied by our girl Taylor Swift, anyone can pull of the old school LBD look. With the classy collar and pleated skirt, this dress proves to be a simple vintage look. It also works as a great day to night outfit – just throw on a pair of tights, add some heels, and you’re set!

6. T-Shirt LBD

This dress is definitely a favorite among teens. The options to style this look are endless which makes it a quick sell out in most stores. One of most common combinations for the t-shirt dress is ankle socks and high-top Converse sneakers. However, you can also throw on an oversized flannel along with some tights and tall boots, which would make it more appropriate for the colder weather.

7. Sheer LBD

The sheer fabric look has gained popularity over the past few years. Many designers have it as part of their signature look. The favorite style for most people is to have a sheer waistline, which allows them to show off their figure in a subtle, yet flattering manner.

8. Body Con LBD

Body con dresses are a great way for people to show off their curves. They are extremely flattering on every type of body figure. You can either wear them as is, or you could throw on a scarf and a vest to amp up the look with a little fall flair.

9. High Neck LBD

High neckline (including halter top) dresses are finally making a reappearance in the fashion world, with a whole new modern twist. This look definitely gives people the chance to show off a lot more skin, highlighting the shoulders and arms. A great style that works all year long – just don’t forget a coat!

10. Oversized Tunic LBD

This look has been around for a few years but its reputation has yet to diminish. The most common everyday wear with this dress is a pair of sheer tights and Dr. Martens. Tunics are seemingly the most comfortable LBD to wear. You don’t have to worry about too much skin being revealed and they don’t restrict your movement.
