We have officially entered the season in which it gets cold in the morning, you’re dying from a heatstroke in the afternoon, and you’re shivering again at night. Fall is here but there are still plenty of awkward moments where we don’t know whether our crop tops are still season friendly or if it’s time to move on and pull out the long sleeved flannels. I am here to let you know that there are still items you can use to transition from summer to fall fashion. in fact I spent most of my Winter last year wearing crop tops. How did I do it? Read below to find out!
Crop top season is usually in the summer; however, you can step up your game by wearing this style in a sweater variety. I probably have some you wore on cool summer nights, and those will work perfectly in the fall as well. You get the best of both worlds; the warmth of a sweater and the edginess of a crop top.

Trend alert: Jean skirts are huge this season! Instead of pairing this item with a summery crop top, choose a body suit layered with a bomber jacket; this summer item will make you rock fall 2016.

Leggings that are made from a light material are comfortable, so I don’t blame you for wanting to carry them over from your summer to fall fashion switch. This item is actually essential for transitioning because on those really cold days, you can hide them under jeans for extra warmth. But light leggings also create the perfect balance with heavier flannel shirts, hoodies or even leather jackets.

Who said sandals are only for the summer? You’ve got your whole body covered, but the suns still shining, why not expose your recently done pedicure? It will get colder eventually, so don’t be afraid to sport your sandals while you still can.

The best part of the summer is being able to wear fit and flare dresses, but this still doesn’t HAVE to stay in the summer. Transition this item from your summer to fall fashion wardrobe by wearing them with opaque tights or knee high boots and layered with a sweater.

Yes, take advantage of the awkward weather as much as you can. Layering is an important aspect of transitioning your wardrobe but so is showing off a little something. Put those legs on display, but keep the fall vibe going by wearing them booties.

This item is a must this season! Again, paired with booties, distressed boyfriend jeans look ironically “fall.” Try wearing this style with a chic blazer to create a casual, yet put-together look.

This item has made a comeback from the 80s and it is here to stay…for another season at least. Try for ones in a thicker material, especially if you’re going sleeveless. These also always look great with high-waisted jeans and a bomber jacket. But really, there is no way to go wrong with these!

Boho summer vibes are not over; you can use your knitted cardigans not only on those cozy nights by the bonfire, but you can also wear them on your way to class over any outfit you can think of.

This outerwear piece was a hit during the summer months, but it’s still trending this fall. Just like knitted cardigans, you can wear them over just about any outfit. If you do decide to pair it with jeans, just make sure they’re different shades or you’ll look too matchy-matchy.
