Shopping for makeup is one of my favorite things to do. Like I could seriously spend hours swatching different highlighters, eyeshadows, and lipstick shades. Although I love my trips to Sephora, my bank account doesn’t feel the same if you know what I mean. That’s why I started buying drugstore beauty products. The term “drugstore products” may seem a little less exciting or fancy, but drugstore makeup brands have truly stepped up their game to make their products feel luxurious, even with an inexpensive price tag.
After discovering that you don’t need expensive products to create a stunning, full face glam look, I found some of my favorite everyday products to be from the drugstore. All of these drugstore makeup products can be found from your local Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, etc. at a super affordable cost. I think people tend to assume that the more expensive a product is, the better the quality is. However, this is anything but true, considering some high end products I have tried aren’t worth all the hype. First glance at this product, and you might assume it’s cheap and won’t work that well. However, I can easily say this is hands down one of the best lip liners I’ve ever tried. I literally have seen this brand at the dollar store, (which again makes it seem like it wouldn’t work that well) but it is one of the cheapest drugstore makeup products that feels luxurious. This lip liner doesn’t require any sharpening, which is another plus, and will stay on for hours at a time.
If you love Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer but don’t want to spend $40 each time you buy it, you have to try this $6 concealer from e.l.f. The Camo Concealer comes in both the regular formula and a hydrating option which I personally prefer. This is a great dupe to Shape Tape as it offers the same full coverage formula, but is also great for cream highlighting and contouring as well. Not only is this concealer cheap but a little of it goes a long way, so you’ll have your bottle for a while before buying another!
Soap Brows are a more recent trend that have taken over social media, but don’t think you can’t get the look with one of our drugstore makeup products! To activate the product, all you need is a spooly and some setting spray. Spray your soap palette once, then comb the product through your brows to get the desired fluffy brow look!
If you’re a frequent TikTok user and love makeup, then you have definitely seen this go to drugstore mascara. The L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara is a high quality drugstore product that will give you voluminous lashes without needing to apply some falsies. Foundation has always been a product that people assume you need to buy straight from makeup stores like Sephora or Ulta. Cream blush is a recent trend that has become super popular when creating a more natural look. I recommend applying the blush with your fingers or a stiff makeup brush, then blending out with a damp beauty blender to create a sun kissed look.
Another NYX product I love is their Jumbo Eye Pencil in the shade Milk. This cream pencil is super versatile and can be used all over the face. I usually use this product on the waterline of my lower lashes, then blended into the inner corners of my eyes. You can also use this product as an all-over face highlight, applying it to your nose contour or under the brows to achieve a lifted look.
I have been using this product since the beginning of high school, and still find myself gravitating towards it when at the drug store. When I am not baking the face with lose powder, I love using this Maybelline Translucent Power to set my makeup. Using this product under your eyes to set your concealer will instantly blur your pores and set your makeup all day long.
Milani’s Baked Blushes are one of the best quality drugstore makeup products I have tried for blush. They come in a wide selection of colors and are super pigmented, but also blend very easily. These blushes are even said to be compared to high end brand blush such as Nars.
wet n wild is one of the most affordable brands for drugstore makeup products, so when I saw the MegaGlo Highlighting Powder I knew I had to try it. This highlighter creates the perfect glow without the glitter looking too chunky and textured. Place this product on the high points of your face and you’ll look more stunning than ever!
