Aaah, spring. The cold, dreary days of winter are done and dusted, and spring has finally shown its glorious, sunny smile upon us! As March commences, one of the things I look most forward to is naturally, the beautifully warm weather and the longer days, and with that comes the excitement of at last being able to switch up those dark, groggy attire and makeup shades for brighter, more cheerful ones! Nail polish is most certainly no different, and compiled here are 9 of the most classic nail colours for spring!
As one of my all-time favourite classic nail colours for not only spring, but all-year-round, Ballerina by Barry M is a gorgeously elegant, dusky pink shade that can come off as quite nude, depending on your skin tone. With that being said, it looks amazing on all colourings and adds a touch of vintage femininity to your hands. As with all Barry M nail polishes, the consistency in Ballerina is creamy, very smooth to apply and boasts an impressive longevity.
The likelihood of Essie’s Mint Candy Apple being THE most classic nail colour for spring, is 8 to 10. It has been a cult favourite for years, and we can see why; it’s a unique, refreshing blue-green shade that is vibrant and eye-catching, yet soft and elegant – a beauty in a bottle (and on the nails).
OPI’s nail polish range is an absolute heaven on Earth for nail polish lovers, particularly because of their amazing shades. Polly Want A Lacquer is a very soft, lilac colour that really adds grace to your hands and entire outfit, and is great for those of you who don’t love pink but still want to reach out for something that’s a little feminine. It is one of the most classic nail colours for spring and one you should definitely get your hands on.
Gelly Hi-Shine is one of my favourite nail polish collections by Barry M (also my favourite nail polish brand!) and the colours in this range (as wella as the formula) are just arrestingly beautiful. Elderberry is a gorgeous, muted cornflower blue and is one of the most classic nail colours for spring.
Another little diamond by Barry M! Guava is also from the much-sought-after Gelly Hi-Shine range and the best way I can describe the colour is, a perfect Tiffany blue-green. As I mentioned before, the formula of these nail polish is incredible and this gorgeous turquoise colour is a definite classic nail colour for spring.
Fuchsia is one of the most classic nail colours for spring, and this vibrant, hot pink nail paint by Barry M is quite honestly HOT. In my opinion, bright pink is almost like that bright, classic red, in that it never, ever gets old. So, wherever you’re looking to spend your glorious spring months, do yourself a favour and pack Barry M’s Nail Paint in Fuchsia with you! The formula, as always with this brand, is incredible and the shine it leaves on your nails is seriously gorgeous.
The name obviously denotes to the nail polish being a winter shade, but for me and for a lot of other girls, this amazing electric blue screams spring and summer! It reminds me of the gleaming, blue sea when the sun shines upon it, and in my view, Frostbite by China Glaze is one of the most classic nail colours for spring.
No list of the most classic nail polishes for spring is complete without a nice, coral colour – and Essie’s Cute As A Button is the perfect coral, peachy-red, flamingo pink, whatever you want to call it! Corals and flamingo pinks always remind me so much of the beach, and they’re just as perfect for the spring.
