Most outfits for summer tend to be just a little too revealing for those of us who prefer to cover up and keep things modest. With that said, it can also be quite difficult to find the right types of clothes that serve our modest needs, yet are comfortable enough for the hot, summer days – but not if you know exactly where to look! One thing I hate having to do is wear layers of clothes just to keep myself properly covered up! I wear the hijab, which means that if I decide to throw on a pretty but sleeveless maxi dress, I have to either wear a long-sleeved body underneath it (horrible idea for the summer) or a nice, denim jacket over it. Thankfully, I can go with the jacket, which always leaves me with enough room to breath and stay cool as a cucumber! This is for sure one of my favourite go-to modest but comfortable outfits for the summer.
Floral print isn’t for everyone, but I definitely have a thing for it, especially for the jolly spring and summer months! It’s so ladylike and feminine, and the best thing about it is that it requires minimal effort when it comes to jewellery and accessorising. Just pop on some cute earrings, a pair of comfortable sandals and a messenger bag or handbag of your choice – and you’re good to go!
Most would pair a knee-length dress with a pair of leggings, tights, or just, well, their bare legs – which is modest enough if you’re not wearing a hijab, but not quite modest if you are! For that reason, I tend to go for either skinny jeans, jeggings, or straight-leg trousers if I decide to wear a pretty little knee-length dress. I think it’s safe to say that no other shade of clothing or whatever else is as safe and as cooling in the summer as good, plain white.
