How To Wear Flares This Autumn

Knowing how to wear flares is key. Trousers distinguishable by their style of fitting as they flare out from the bottom of the calf, flares were popular during the 60’s and 70’s but are still having their moment within fashion today thanks to celeb style influencers like Gigi Hadid and Chrissy Teigen.

IMO, flares are a wardrobe essential.

Not only are they fun and different as opposed to your traditional ripped or skinny jean, they suit all body types and have the ability to accentuate a person’s figure. From denim to corduroy, styling them isn’t that difficult either as they match with almost anything. However, with there typical heavy material, I find flares to be too much in summer as my legs get overwhelmingly warm wearing them which is why they are perfect for colder months, so here are some basic tips on how to wear flares this Autumn along with a few fall approved outfit ideas for inspiration.

These mid waist, faded, denim flares from Zara at £29.99 have the ability to go with any colour scheme making it effortless to style them.

If you don’t actually own any flares as you’re a flare virgin. This pair alone should convince you to invest and make them your first, because after all, we all have to start somewhere. For a laid back approach, wear them with a slogan tee, a padded puffer jacket and a pair of converse, accessorized with a leather vintage style bum bag and a heart buckle belt. If casual isn’t your thing, wear them with a cream cropped leather jacket, red pointed stiletto heel ankle boots, a leopard print minaudière bag and large face shaped earrings for a refined yet powerful look.

Next up are these orange and black tartan flares from New Girl Order at £28 which are perfect for those who want something a bit more edgier.

With serious Halloween vibes, it’s no secret that patterns are in as checks have been popular all year in fashion and have become a must have print that you can’t go wrong with. Style them with a green oversized suit jacket, a spotted sheer mesh top, matched with green leather kitten heels and an organza style shopper for smart date attire. Alternatively, you can team them with a black patent 90’s longline style faux leather trench, sock design white boots, black rectangle disc earrings and a triangle zip shoulder bag for a 90’s inspired throwback.
