10 GIFs That Accurately Describe What Its Actually Like To Be A Student At University of Salford

Being a student at University can be both a daunting and thrilling experience for many people. There’s this constant idea of having a million things to do, and simultaneously nothing to do at the same time. It constructs a strong foundation for responsibility that people are able to take with them for the rest of their lives. Although people may not share the same University experience, here are 10 relatable gifs that accurately portray being a student at the University of Salford, or any other University for that matter.

1. Those gruesome 9am’s.

I don’t know about you, but this literally feels like a constant battle. I tell myself every night ‘the next morning I am going to wake up early and become a model student‘, but that never seems to go to plan. It is crazy to think that, not long ago, waking up everyday for secondary school/high school was something I had become accustomed to. Whereas now, it is a constant struggle.

2. The need for caffeine.

The need for caffeine becoming a constant need for survival, especially with those 9am’s! If you weren’t much of a coffee/energy drinker before, you very much are now.

3. Endless hours at the library.

Whether it is pulling an all-nighter, with a desk packed with sugary snacks or drinks, or studying hard for an essay or test; endless hours at the library is something I am sure we all have had to endure at one point as students.

4. The art of procrastination.

Have you ever had a load of work to do, but instead just binge watched Netflix shows or went out instead? Rest assured that you are not the only one!

5. Dressing nice is treating yourself.

Coming to classes in a fashionable manner seems like a distant memory the longer you are a student, and those days where you do basically involve a lot more work behind the scenes. I usually look like a troll when I go to lessons often having to remind people that the weekday version of me is different from the weekend me.

6. Power Naps.

Power naps become your normal way of functioning, having to sneak in a quick nap before you can continue on with your day.

7. Quick and easy meals.

Something cheap, easy and quick seems to be the way, especially if you aren’t much of a chef in the kitchen, it can be quite intimidating task. In my first year of University I was clueless to almost everything. I needed meals with the littlest cooking skills required.

8. Becoming more stingy.

Long gone are the days where you could just pick anything up and your parents would pay for it. Now we actually have to… adult… Yikes. Prices now become the most noticeable things about items and you either; become that type of student who will spend money on things they do not need, or: become stingy and look for deals or the cheapest items.

9. Wild nights out.

Blissful nights you can’t remember with people whose names you continuously forget. Night outs where you can’t remember how you ended up from A to B, and bad ideas becoming good ideas. I think this gif is probably how most of us start off on these wild nights. These are all things that happen to you once you start living that student lifestyle.

10. Media City

Media city (even though its not a gif), and this point obviously being exclusive to Salford University students, is extremely breathtaking especially when you first see it. Whether your classes are always there, or you are just visiting from another campus you are always captivated by its beauty.
