10 Amazing Food Places In London

London is a city that has something to cater to everyone. As one of the most vibrant cities in the world, you’ll be sure to find a food spot that you just can’t resist! Here is a list of amazing food places in London that you should know about.

1. London Grind

A hot-spot for London’s socialites and vibrant in its atmosphere and design, the London Grind is a lively and chic coffee bar and restaurant to stop and have a meal in. It caters to the simple food lover from its minimalist but wholesome selection of meals to please all. It’s good to know that this joint also transforms into a cocktail bar haven by night, so it draws in every crowd from date night couples to group ravers. With warm vintage vibes, neon signs and seriously cool drinks, The Grind is the place to be as one of the most hip food places in London! Try their infamous weekend brunch and look out for the prize draws to win a bottomless brunch for you and friends!

2. Dozo Sushi

Calling all sushi lovers! Japanese in both cuisine and dining experience, Dozo offers an array of mouth-watering colourful sushi and sashimi selections. As soon as you step into this compact yet stretched space, you’re welcomed with the most sombre Japanese style dining experience. This includes the level sunken seats and the Geisha murals on the walls. Be sure to book in advance as this spot gets busy from the time the doors open. Their Nasu Dengaku (miso dressed grilled aubergine) is a personal favourite and a must-try.

3. Soft Serve Society

This is a dessert bar that boasts colour and calories (but it’s so worth it) into their ice creams, sundaes and indulgent Freakshakes. As one of the more edgy food places in London, their ice creams have flavours and colours that you didn’t even think could exist in food! We’re talking charcoal coconut, matcha, taro flavoured ice creams and all sorts of toppings to accompany them. When you’re in the mood to treat yourself (and I mean really treat yourself), this is definitely the place to go. Find them in Box Park, Shoreditch.

4. Darjeeling Express

A true home food treasure, the Darjeeling Express in London’s vibrant food hub Kingly Court is simple in appearance yet full of flavour in its Indian food selection. They offer a broad range of platters with no dish short of that special home-made touch, and a back story to go with it. There’s nothing to comfort you like your mother’s cooking, and since this restaurant is run by women you’ll find just the comfort food you’re looking for. Expect a warm and friendly atmosphere upon entrance. Let the spices entice you as you take your first step into the restaurant.

5. Jamaica Patty Co.

Bringing a taste of the islands to London, the Jamaica Patty Company has all the flavours for your patty cravings. Ideal for a filling grab-n-go, it is simple in its decor. Moreover, despite being a little on the expensive side to match West End prices (one patty costs 3.95!), the flavour definitely makes up for it. Make sure you stop by and have a see for yourself.

6. Bunga Bunga

Surrounded by eye-popping colour, kitsch decor and burlesque, Bunga Bunga is an Italian food fest brimming with live entertainment. One for the performance and stage lovers, this place will not disappoint you. Good food, good entertainment and great company… what more could you possibly want? It is definitely one of the more unique food places in London and is sure to steal your heart. Their signature dish: metre-long pizzas! Do you think you could take one on?

7. Bageriet

A hidden gem just off Long Acre road between Leicester Square and Covent Garden, Bageriet is an enticing Swedish bakery. No need to search hard for it as the warm sweet smell of fresh baking on the length of the street will draw you in from the get-go. Perfect for a coffee and a cake break or get some cinnamon buns to go. Either way, you’re spoilt for choice at this food place in London, as one bun is just as sweet as the next!

8. Maison Du Mezzé

Maisson Du Mezzé is a middle eastern dining experience that demands your mouth to water. You can’t miss this Turquoise palace in the heart of Leicester Square. It is delicately lit and dressed in chic, stylish Middle eastern decor sporting earthy tones. You have successfully entered a chapter in 1001 nights in all of its tranquil glory. Here you’ll find colourful meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are a delight to the senses with the drinks and the cocktails to match.

9. The Skinny Kitchen

If you’re opting for vegan, this place has you covered. Aesthetically appealing to the stylish millennial and enticing in its decor, one of the newer food places in London caters to all vegans and vegetarians alike. The Avocado Pear is their mascot and with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables to go around both in the food and in the drinks, you can be sure that you won’t feel bad for those guilty pleasures you had beforehand (yes, we know).

10. Shaka Zulu

In the heart of Camden Lock, Shaka Zulu is an underground tribal African themed palace. The space is decked with giant Zulu warrior statues and wall carvings in a sombre lighting. Not to mention a waterfall in the downstairs dining area! Be prepared to enter an adventure with a feast for your eyes. This goes for everything from the ceiling to the booths you sit in, to the design covered bathrooms. Adored more so for the decor than the food, to just have a drink is excuse enough to see the amazing woodwork of this gigantic 27000ft space. I would advise to go here on a group deal, as this restaurant is very costly.
