University life is renowned for being the best part of your life. Some universities in the UK are full of energy and you hear horror stories about student antics, whilst other university can be quiet and tame. I think what every student is after is somewhere which will keep you entertained when the sun goes down, for three years minimum.
It’s all very well having an amazing course and a horde of knowledge-filled academic types ready to teach you everything you want to know about the subject you’re most interested in, but let’s be honest: you’re not going to be studying all the time. Of course you’re not. You’re going to want to take your mind off your degree now and then, and let your hair down right?
Here is a list of the craziest universities in the UK, according to how good their nightlife is.
Manchester is number one on the list of craziest Universities. A night out in Manchester’s student area, consists of: going to a bar called Squirrels for pints under £2, a place called Cubo for a proper boogie, then travelling from house party to house party. No one wants to stop the fun. Ever. There are also endless streets of bars and clubs that keep the craziness going. Rumour has it the Gay clubs are the best in Manchester.

A night out in Liverpool is a true delight. Everyone’s dressed up in River Island and Missguided dresses and heels, everyone’s tanned, has had their hair done especially for the night because who knows who you’re going to see. Rumour has it the girls are particularly wild in this city. This is definitely one of the craziest universities in the UK!
Everybody at Cardiff has an amazing time with £1 VK’s and gets plenty crazy rushed up on this sugary drink. Rumour has it that the nights out here are the cheapest.
Not only is everyone fit, but a bloody good laugh in Newcastle. They know the exact remedy for a perfect night out: pres, trebles bar, club and a whole lot of crazy. Rumour has it that Newcastle students don’t just have fun with alcohol.
Northumbria, bitter rivals of Newcastle, has thousands of students to its name. With so many districts – it’s no surprise our two party universities are bursting at the seams. In addition, they also have a 24 hour Greggs; more than enough reason to visit the city and have a crazy night followed by a sausage roll.
Nottingham is home to both Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University so it offers a lot of cheap student nights out that will be crazy. Rumour has it Nottingham nightlife can be strict.
Bristol is one of the best universities for night life because the city welcomes everybody. There is nightlife for everybody from all backgrounds and personalities so it is definitely the perfect place for a crazy night out. Rumour has it that students stay out til the sun rises and sit on the many hills of Bristol to watch the sun pop up.
Dundee is particularly cheap compared to Edinburgh or Glasgow so is home to the craziest nights out in Scotland. There’s a good range of places such as Liquid; underground for your typical nightclub nigh out, and Reading Rooms which has trance and techno DJ events. Rumour has it
UCL is very close to both Soho and Camden, thus the options are close to unlimited regardless of the genre of music you listen to, or any other form of nightlife activity you may be interested in; let the crazy begin. Rumour has it most London universities are wet and wild.
Of course there are universities in the UK who undergo wild and crazy antics, and universities full of secret societies with secret laws but they are secret for a reason.
