10 Closet Essentials For A Killer Wardrobe

Most people have a lot of clothes, most of which they don’t even end up wearing that much, but do we all have the basics? Here are 10 closet essentials, that will make the foundation of your closet. All the pieces that are part of this list are staples that I believe build a killer wardrobe and you will always look chic and put together.

Basic t-shirt

You really can’t go wrong with a simple basic t-shirt. You can choose what kind of neckline you prefer but having a black and a white basic t-shirt is a necessity your closet needs. It’s an item that can be dressed up or down, you can wear it as an undergarment to a strapless dress, you can wear it with jeans and a cool jacket, or even with dressier pants and a blazer, so you can really do so much with a t-shirt.

Out of all the closet essentials, this is a great staple piece. Again, you can do so much with a black silky camisole, you can wear it under a blazer and it instantly looks dressy, you can wear it with denim to dress it down, you can wear it with a skirt or even with a pair of pants. Its very versatile.

A blazer is one of those closet essentials that will carry you through life. You can’t really go wrong with a blazer, it always makes you look put together. It’s an item that works well in a nighttime situation or even for an event, but you can still dress it down with a graphic tee and jeans or even shorts. A black one should definitely be your first purchase, but you can go crazy with blazers if you want to.

I personally think that everyone should have a black trouser in their closet essentials. You can dress them down easily with a nice pair of sneakers or you can wear them with booties, heels or a fancier flat and a blazer for more of an office look.

Little black dress

You really can’t go wrong with a little black dress. It’s probably my favourite out of all the closet essentials. It won’t make you look overdressed or underdressed, and no matter how many times you wear the same dress, with different accessories and shoes it can easily look like its brand new. It can be any style of dress you want, but a mid-length is probably the most versatile, as you can wear it both during the day and night.

Another wardrobe staple is definitely the denim jacket. It’s a piece that any modern woman’s wardrobe cannot miss. There are so many to choose from, you can get it pretty much anywhere, including second hand, so it’s something very accessible to all.

This last item from our closet essentials list can make any outfit look cool. Its one of those jackets you can wear all year round and they look good thrown over any outfit. You don’t need to buy a real leather one, there are so many good fake leather jackets out there, in different styles and colours, so if you don’t already have one, you should go pick one up.
