Beige: Fall’s Hottest Colour Trend And How To Wear It

When thinking about the colour Beige, it is often selected as a colour of boredom. Though Paris Fashion Week’s 2019 Autumn/Winter collection had everyone believing it to be quite the opposite. Walking down the catwalk, fashionistas were introduced to a variety of different shades of Beige, from Cappuccino to Tan.

Why is Beige THE Colour?

Well, most women are adopting a more chic and elegant look, thus using a beige trench coat to master the art of sophistication. Though beige is often associated with not being an exciting colour – if it is done right it can bring about endless imaginative ways of styling.

Styling Beige

1. Daily and Casual:

Though over the past few months there has been a craze of logo printed sweaters and blue washed jeans which are reminiscent of the 90s it appears that people are now taking a more relaxed approach when it comes to the colder seasons. Simplicity speaks volumes that why, for the Autumn/Fall season, why not opt for a soft beige pair of dungarees with a white or black sweater and white sneakers or trainers? It communicates a sense of comfort when hopping around in the city.

Copy this look:

Whereas in the Winter season, opt for an Ecru shaded aviator jacket. Paired with a warm turtle neck sweater, helping you to keep warm in the colder months whilst looking chic and stylish. Invest in an oversized Aviator Jacket with a pair of looped earrings and a bold lip just to make your outfit a little edgier and noticeable.

Office and Workwear:

The default colour for the workplace tends to be black, which can be a little dreary and mediate any character. Even when given the option to wear different colours at work, we often go straight to black because it’s the safer choice. But Beige can be the colour that comes to mind when dressing for work.

Go for a nice Camel shade. For a work outfit, a white blouse and shaded cigarette trousers accompanied by a long Camel shaded coat really stand out. It elevates a sense of chic and formalness when going to and from work, whilst prompting you to look sharp and presentable for any business meeting.

You could even go suited and booted with a sharp blazer when the autumn sun hits. Dress it with High-Waisted trousers and a blouse tucked in, it means you’re ready for business.

Evening Wear, Special Occasions and Going Out:

I bet beige is not the colour that comes to mind when it comes to going out for drinks or a fancy date. Rather you’re thinking about colours such as red. But who’s to say beige can’t be the new colour that comes to mind when you’re out having fun? It all comes down to the statement piece. Whether it’s a lace dress or pleated dress, Beige can be used for that special occasion.

For a fancy dinner, a little texture can be added to your outfit which comes in the form of sequins and embroidery. Heads will turn in awe and flattery will follow shortly after. The beige is very neutral so doesn’t draw too much attention, but the textures of the dress make a statement within itself. Why not match your makeup with your dress with a hint of glittery beige eyeshadow and a pink lip?

Grab the Look:

For a special occasion like a birthday dinner, a beige evening gown equals elegance especially with your hair up in a smart bun, golden-toned makeup with long diamante earrings. It is formal, not too casual and not too over-the-top.

What do you think about Beige being the colour choice for Winter/Autumn 2019? Do you love it hate it? Is it bold or is it dull? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below!
