This is a very sad post to write, as I am writing about one of the most promising and beautiful young singers who sadly is not with us anymore due to a terrible event that happened 24 years ago. Selena Quintanilla Perez was one of the most stunning, warm and talented singers to grace the Mexican Tejano music scene, making history and achieving many things in the music and fashion world at such a young age. Her beauty was out of this world, and she originated an amazing style that many contemporary artists emulate today. She paved the way for a lot of Latino artists to start their career and inspired many young girls to sing in a Latin music environment that was mainly dominated by males.
However, this article will remember her amazing talent and look at some of her amazing fashion pieces throughout her career which were all surprisingly flashy yet low key at the same time. She was able to look effortlessly stunning at all times, always sporting her iconic red lip and of course her breathtaking smile. She most certainly lives on with her amazing music and fashion pieces, as well as in the iconic movie Selena played by Jennifer Lopez. May she always rest in peace. We love you, Selena!
Selena was way ahead of her time with her style. She was extremely fashion forward and brought us a lot of 90s fashion pieces that we love and wear even today! I will never forget the iconic scene in the Selena movie where she starts to wear what she calls a ‘bustier’ much to the dismay of her father. Of course, this wardrobe item would end up being a classic part of her wardrobe! The bustier, usually paired with some super high waist pants was surprisingly sexy yet modest at the same time. Selena perfected the sexy yet classy girl with all of her outfit choices. She wore many different bustiers complete with glittery sequins that she often made herself with her mother.

It seems that Selena Quintanilla Perez actually looks good in anything. Be it a stunning dress or casual outfit, she makes absolutely everything pop. Selena dressed up this shirt by wearing her signature bold red lip, statement earrings and tying up the ends into a knot. She paired it of course with her favourite super high waist jeans which have become a recent hot trend.
Selena was definitely an originator of the animal print trend in the 90s. This absolutely cute Leopard print Baker Boy hat, matching Leopard print belt and boots has made me die and go to 90s heaven. The print livens up her monochrome black outfit, giving her a military casual vibe. The Baker Boy hat has definitely come back into style and I am so thankful for it.
