It’s tough to be a makeup fanatic and also save money- it’s also hard to get into makeup when most products at Sephora and Mac are equal to an entire paycheque. Here are my top 10 affordable makeup brands and where you can buy them!
My number one affordable makeup brand has to be e.l.f.- from brushes, to lipstick, concealer, and even skin care products, e.l.f. is the way to go. And come on, you can’t go wrong with a $4 highlight!
On the same topic as e.l.f., this brand is highly affordable. You can find it in most drugstores and Walmart and I can promise you it won’t break the bank! They have gorgeous lip shades, eyeshadow palettes, and even a rainbow highlight all under $7!
NYX is a little bit pricier than e.l.f. and Wet n Wild, but they have high-quality professional makeup for their prices. My personal favorite is their eyebrow pencils (which are great dupes for Anastasia Beverly Hills- and only $12). Their Lip Lingerie matte colors are out of this world and will last on your lips all day!
Rimmel is hands down one of my favorite drugstore makeup brands. Their “Rimmel: Kate Moss” lipsticks are not only affordable, but have gorgeous colors, beautiful pigmentation, and look super flattering on everyone. They have medium-high coverage foundation that I swear by! Rimmel can be found at Walmart and all drug stores.
A relatively new makeup brand, but truly great products for its price! They have amazing mascara, all for under $5, and gorgeous lip shades for around the same price. They even have a super close dupe for Benefit’s Gimme Brow! Available at Shoppers Drug Mart!
BH Cosmetics is super cheap, but produces great quality makeup and brushes! Although I have not tried a lot of their products, what I have used has blown me away! If you are just getting into makeup or looking to explore new brands you should give them a try!
Maybe not a top choice for a beginner makeup fanatic, but the Sephora Collection is probably one of the cheapest brands you can find in Sephora- and still amazing quality. If you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of Sephora this is a great way to start!
Another trusty drugstore brand! Their mascaras are a staple in most beginner makeup bags (and even in some intermediate bags as well.) Their “Ready, Set, Gorgeous” concealer is perfectly lightweight for under the eyes, and again, this brand is super affordable! (They’re also one of the first makeup brands with a male spokesperson!)
For being a drugstore brand, L’Oreal is a little bit on the pricey side- but they have amazing products! My personal favourite is their True Match foundation, because unlike most drug store brands, you can pick what undertone you are to get the perfect match for your skin tone! Their new Infallible line of products are all super long lasting and in my opinion, are much better quality than you would expect from a drugstore brand.
Last but certainly not least is Colourpop- an online only store that is known for their gorgeous liquid lipsticks, eyeshadows, and highlights. Although their products are priced in USD, it is still a super cheap option for long lasting liquid lipsticks (Definitley better than spending $30 for a Kat Von D one!)
