5 White Sangria Recipes To Try This Summer

Sangria is definitely the summer drink, every year and everywhere you go. Despite being a typical Spanish drink, the entire world seems to be appreciating its refreshing and sweet taste. Seems that what we all know as the fruity wine drink, known to be the “red” sangria, is being substituted, especially over the summer season, by his twin “white” version. It is easier to add and build different flavours to a white sangria, compared to the red one, which is quite standard and traditional.  With white sangria, you con burst out your creativity by adding in your favourite fruit or flavours that will refresh you during the heat waves. Here are 5 white sangria recipes you need to try this summer:

1. Orange and basil white sangria

A heat wave is being announced for the next few days so a chilled white sangria is definitely what you need to survive. Plus, most people love the combination of fruit and wine so why not do sangria this summer. To prepare an orange and basil white sangria, combine sugar and water and bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Then, once you’ve removed your mixture from the heat, add orange, basil leaves, orange juice. Then let cool for about 15 minutes. When your sangria reaches a regular room temperature, add white sparkling wine, lemon soda and serve over loads of ice. Then sip your refreshing drink while you chill in the sun.

2. Strawberry jalapeno white sangria

You can also try a spicy kick out for your white sangria recipes. For this, the jalapeno will do this job for you. Add some strawberries and blackberries to prosecco or white dry wine, add a few teaspoons of sugar and let the mixture chill in the fridge for a couple of hours. After that, you’re ready to enjoy your refreshing drink relaxing by the pool.

3. Grapefruit Sangria

The bitterness of grapefruit goes absolutely well with the sparkling bubbles of Prosecco or champagne. The bubbles will be literally exploding in your tongue. Make this sweetness even better by adding a sweet tone with some strawberry juice and then finish it up with tons of ice cubes because, you know, the heat!

4. Easy tropical sangria

The title says it all. For this recipe, the main flavours are going to be tropical. Pick your favourite exotic fruit (you definitely can’t go wrong with pineapples),  grab a couple of bottles of Prosecco, dash in with some sparkling soda and mint leaves and off you go. Your tropical white sangria will be attending you chilled and quite in the fridge.

5. White sangria sparkler

The recipe for a refreshing white sangria sparkler is the combination of a crisp white wine and a sparkling white wine, like Prosecco. Sangria wouldn’t be sangria without fruit, so to the combination of your favourite wine, you need to add your favourite fruits too. Go for either a sour taste or a sweet taste. Whichever you pick, make sure your fruit is fresh, as all the flavours depend on your fruit. Let your sangria chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour then serve over ice with sparkling white wine. You can also garnish with mint leaves or basil if you desire.
