The Typical Day Of A University Of Kent Student

Most days, we students here at the University of Kent go through the same old, day-to-day routines. From the annoying alarm testings to the mind numbing lectures. But when it comes down to it, we wouldn’t change a typical day at the University of Kent for anything. If you go here, you can probably relate to this schedule. This is what a typical day is like for most of us students at Kent:

9:00 A.M.

Get rudely awoken by the fire alarm testing, which happens every week on a specified day depending on your accommodation.

9:30 A.M.

Get rudely awoken again by the cleaner wishing to clean your en-suite, only to find you in bed. She will probably judge you for having the sleeping pattern of a baby sloth.

10:00 A.M.

Drag yourself out of bed and eat a bowl of dry coco pops because the milk you bought from Essentials yesterday has already gone off.

12:00 P.M.

Find your way to the opposite end of campus for an hour-long lecture from a lecturer who reads off of a PowerPoint.

1:00 P.M.

Pop to Essentials for a meal deal which goes out-of-date tomorrow and an energy drink to get you through the day.

1:30 P.M.

Head to Templeman library to catch up on the reading before your next seminar in a couple of hours.

3:00 P.M.

Arrive at your seminar room to be met by like-minded individuals with a passion for the course (everyone else will fail to turn up until the revision sessions at the end of year. Then you will find out you were in a class of 12 all along, but only recognise the other 7 that attended the seminars.)

5:00 P.M.

Head back to the flat after two exhausting hours of mind-expanding discussions about your subject.

5:30 P.M.

Find your flatmates and strategize for the sesh to come that evening.

6:30 P.M.

Cook a nutritional dinner of fish fingers, chips and beans.

7:30 P.M.

Start getting ready for the evening, shower; groom yourself to within an inch of your life on the off chance that you pull.

8:30 P.M.

Begin pre-drinks with your flat in the kitchen. Message other friends to find out if they are up for a sesh and invite them to the flat.

10:00 P.M.

Suitably waved, make your way down the stairs for the 3-minute stumble to Venue, queue for 15 minutes and get searched by the thorough security guards. If you’re lucky or look like a drug dealer, prepare to be patted down by a guard who is probably younger than you.

2:00 A.M.

Stumble back out of Venue with your friends or companion for the night, and head home.

Is this what your day-to-day routine is like at the University of Kent? Let us know in the comments!
