Whatever your opinion on ITV’s Love Island may be, there’s no denying it’s addictive. We just can’t help flicking onto it at 9pm every night, and its huge audience numbers are the reason why Love Island stars frequently go on to be Reality TV stars in their own right. But what are already-established reality stars saying about the show? Scroll down to find out.
Geordie Shore‘s Charlotte Crosby is an avid fan of Love Island, frequently tweeting and retweeting in reaction to the 2019 series. On the fifth of this month, she retweeted this tweet titled “Amy’s list vs Curtis’ list”, which jokes about Curtis Pritchard telling his then half girlfriend Amy Hart that he likes to get straight up in the mornings so he can make coffee for everyone lol. “Amy’s list” notes things like “never taught me how to dance”, whereas Curtis’ is just an extensive coffee order. Charlotte certainly wasn’t taking Amy and Curtis’ break up too seriously.
Weirdly, she also seems to back Joe Garratt in the whole Joe-Lucie debate, when fans began to accuse the former of being manipulative and controlling, retweeting a post which read “Lucie saying “never say never” when talking about Tommy just shows that joe had every right in being worried about how close they were”, and commenting “I couldn’t agree more with this. Feel bad for all the stick he got gut instinct never lies.”
There’s always a nation’s favourite in Love Island, and atm, it’s Ovie. We can’t resist his looks or his charm, and MIC’s Lucy Watson is no different. In a tweet from 10th July, she says: “I don’t understand how all the girls aren’t fighting over ovie.” Same hun, same. And, just like us, she’s hugely hoping Ovie will hurry up and get over Anna, so that he and Amber can run off into the sunset.
She’s also backing Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who, let’s be real, we weren’t that sure about at the beginning, but after that post Casa Amore reunion, we won’t hear a word against them. Whose side are we on? Ellie-Belly’s that’s whose.
Although she’s since left the show, TOWIE star Chloe Sims was 100% a Lucie Donlan fan back in June. Poor Lucie had her fair share of drama in the Love Island villa, not only with the whole Tommy-Molly-Lucie love triangle, but also with all the other girls in the villa getting at her for wanting to hang out with the boys more than them. Chloe had her back though, retweeting a post which stated: “Omg why Is everyone in love island making such a big deal out of lucie not being as close to the girls than the boys? Really don’t see the big problem leave the poor girl alone”, and commenting: “I know??”
Despite clearly being a fan, Chloe is also aware of the negative impacts of reality TV, reminding her followers that reality stars need kindness and are human too, by sharing a series of tweets which state: “I love an opinion but I never comment on someone’s appearance .. it’s not needed .. & it can really effect people mentally ..no matter how strong they appear to be ” and “I do love twitter after love island .. & I love seeing people’s opinions on there actions but people commenting on people’s appearances really makes me feel uncomfortable .. please remember comments are hurtful & there families can see “.
