After Uni

The Highest Paid Graduate Jobs To Keep In Mind

With two-thirds of a human’s life being spent at work, it’s important to enter a career you’ll want to do for the rest of your life. You might be applying for uni’s, or just graduated from one, but wherever you are in life it can be a struggle to figure out what can motivate you to go to work. For a lot of people, money is a big motivator. It can really push them to be the best in their career. If you think you’re one of those people, here’s a list of the highest paid graduate jobs that will help you with your decision.

Law Firms

You will need to commit to years of university training and all that comes at a hefty price, but it will all be worth it once you’ve got your career started. Graduate jobs at law firms can vary in starting salaries, but can be as high as £35,000 a year! Definitely worth remembering when you’re starting to lose motivation.

Banking/Financial Services

It’s not surprising that a job involving money would mean you earn a lot of money, but the figures you could potentially earn might surprise you. Graduate jobs will generally have you earning about £30,000, but due to the opportunity to be getting big bonuses, a first-year analyst could be earning £50,000 to £70,000, with the chance for that salary to increase each year.

Accountancy

This sector is one of the biggest employers of graduates in the UK, accounting for 23% of all new grad jobs, making it a desirable route for graduates to go for. Salaries start at around £30,000 (depending on the company) for part qualified students, this means that once you’ve fully qualified you’re going to be earning even more money.

IT Consultant

It might not be the flashiest sounding job in the world, but if you manage to get a job with one of the leading companies, it can earn you big bucks. Starting salaries usually start between £21,000 to £30,000 but if you scoop a job at a company like Alfa, you could be earning £40,000, which isn’t bad for coming straight out of uni.

Engineering

While men largely dominate this industry, it shouldn’t stop women from breaking the mould and earning those high salaries! If you want to start earning those big numbers straight away, aim to get hired by one of the leading global oil companies. They may offer around £40,000 as a starting salary. There are some great options for highest paid graduate jobs you should certainly keep in mind.

Architect

Be prepared to be studying for seven years if you decide on this career. This is a good thing though. Due to placements during your degree, you will have more experience than many other graduates in different sectors. This means a higher salary for a qualified architect, which on average is about £35,000 a year.

Pharmaceutical Industry

The government is currently trying to push more scientific entrepreneurship in the UK. That means that there are many more opportunities to get grad jobs with good salaries in this sector. Grad jobs usually start around £27,000, but with this, you’ll be given many benefits that a full employee would get.
