The Best Clubs In Newcastle, Ranked

The toon is often referred to as one of the best cities for nightlife in the UK, much of which can be attributed to Charlotte Crosby and co. But it is deserved, as Newcastle offers some of the best clubs around, and some of the best chippies to end the night off with. Here are the best clubs in Newcastle ranked.

1. World Headquarters

As it is known, worldies is a hidden gem of Newcastle. Tucked away behind an old bus station, the haunt offers cheap drinks (do I need to go on?), and DJ’s that will get even the timidest of students dancing. It also has one of the most inclusive, friendly vibes that a club could have- everyone just wants to have a damn good time.

2. Cosmic Ballroom

Situated in China Town, Cosmic is an underground rave den for electronic DJ’s, with the ultimate rough-edge feel. The ceiling is low, and the decorations are set up to fit whatever gig it has going on. Ballroom isn’t half-hearted, and neither will your night be if you end up here.

3. Digital

Digi is “the fabric of the north” and at one point was even the 11th best club in the world. It boasts a huge capacity, huge guests and an even huger variety of music. Perfect for those who won’t shy away from any genre and love midweek parties. For any preference, Digi will deliver.

4. The Cut

This is Newcastle’s alternative club space with major intimate loft party vibes. Hundreds of students go to listen to new tunes. Wednesday has hip hop and Friday has deep techno. Whenever you go, it’s a fiver and the drinks are super cheap once you’re inside. I’d give it a go.

5. Stein Bier Keller

This might not technically be a club, but it’s worth a mention. Expect dancing on tables, drinking from literal gallons of beer and singing along to all-time classics. It manages to feel authentically German despite the masses of students and its position in the middle of Bigg Market. Once you get sick of the sing-along vibe (inevitable), you’re just across the road from Filthy’s and Illegitimate.

6. Floritas, Madame Koos and House of Smith

3 clubs in one giant maze. One room with palm trees and vibrant colours, one with stylish bare brick and chandeliers, and one with a hidden dark bar feel, each is unique. It also creates masses of confused groups as you go from Hawaii to dungeon vibes in a couple of seconds. But it’s cheap and a definite laugh. Three of the best clubs in Newcastle all in one!

7. The O2 Academy

A minute from the station you have one of Newcastle’s top live music venues, which doubles as a club night. The music flitters between mainstream and alternative, pleasing everyone in your group. Plus, if you go to a gig, it’s the perfect excuse to stay out and drink yourself silly… But don’t drink yourself too silly.
