The Best Cafes In Edinburgh To Visit As Soon As Possible

In a busy city, it’s great to have a go-to cafe where you can enjoy a coffee and maybe even a little treat. Edinburgh is home to a treasure trove of quirky cafes, and if you can, we’d definitely suggest visiting all of them. For now, check out our picks for the best cafes in Edinburgh — you’re sure to find your perfect hangout.

1. Lovecrumbs

If you’re in the mood for great cake and nice times, then this is the cafe for you. With quirky, mismatched decor and a daily selection of amazing baked goods, this is the perfect cafe for if you wanna just hang out with friends and lose track of time.

2. Burr & Co

Burr & Co is in the centre of town so it’s perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat or catching up with friends. If you’re not in the mood for coffee, they’ve also got a great selection of flavoured hot chocolates served in giant mugs — keep this cafe in mind for the colder months!

3. Mary’s Milk Bar

While Mary’s Milk Bar is more of an ice cream shop than one of the cafes in Edinburgh, it’s the perfect place to hang out if you’re after a sweet treat. With a dazzling selection of ice cream, milkshakes and desserts, you’ll be back here again and again. Don’t worry, they do serve coffee too.

4. Loudons

If you’re feeling a proper meal, Loudon’s is the place for you. They don’t only serve coffee and cakes here, but also burgers, small lunches and a great selection of “Benny’s” (otherwise known as eggs Benedict).

5. Brew Lab

This is one of the cafes in Edinburgh that is serious about coffee. Brew Lab is a great place to check out for specialty coffee and cool vibes all around. Definitely give their cold brew coffees a try!breakfast

Edinburgh is full of hipster hangouts, and The Milkman on Cockburn street is one of them. If you picture yourself hanging out in picturesque cafes, making good conversation or getting lost in a book, consider The Milkman the perfect setting.

7. Milk @ The Fruitmarket Gallery

The Fruitmarket Gallery is a relatively new addition in the centre of town, and their cafe certainly adds to the overall charm of the place. If you fancy checking out some cool art exhibitions and sitting down to a nice cup of coffee or a small meal, it would be worth your while to visit this cafe. Don’t forget to snag something from their gift shop before you go!

8. Zebra Coffee Co

This intimate cafe is the perfect hideaway if you want to escape the bustle of the city. Grab a seat in one of the couches at the back and enjoy a cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) while you marvel at the cool interiors.
